Dear Augustine Togonu-Bickersteth,

Good-hearted visionary promoter of innovation in our development world ( sometimes a fantasy world),  BWT, as to those of us who aspire to everlasting life over yonder in the Hereafter, I sometimes wonder how in the meantime,  material and spiritual life would be much better for some of us who are still down here on planet earth - not six feet under - if all the looted assets and cash from the various lootocracies across Africa  - now surely exceeding trillions of dollars , could be returned to the various state coffers and plunged into development projects !

No kidding: I wonder how you would feel if you were the Director-General of e.g. the Nigerian Infrastructure Development Ministry and had that kind of money to play with.

BTW, I also wonder how Chidi Anthony Opara the poet would feel if he had that kind of money to play with, in his case,  cash from Father Christmas ( Santa Claus). I'm sure that Chidi would not be feeling like Silas Marner, but I fear that with such good fortune striking like a bolt of welcome lightning he might totally lose the incentive and the revolutionary motivation and therefore stop writing poetry altogether…

As Director-General of that ministry and with that kind of money to play around with I’m sure that in no time at all Nigeria will be so vastly improved that the brain-drain  people would all be returning safely back to base, in a hurry

It’s a fact of life over here in Sweden for example that many retirees with fat , medium , or even meagre pensions stay on, some spending their final days in old peoples homes, as they have hesitated about returning to where they came from because they fear there is no adequate health care available there. That’s the sad story.

After the necessary infrastructure development I suppose you  could be turning your attention to some luxury development such as these :

Beyond Facts

MSC World Europa

In the pipeline : Sweden : a city made of wood

Mazi Cornelius,

The money will (not "would") be used to set up a foundation for the promotion of poetry (especially the Motor Park variant).
