Professor Francis Egbokhare to Interview the President of ASUU, Professor Christopher Piwuna, November 9, 2025

Francis Egbokhare is a professor of Linguistics at the University of Ibadan. He is a versatile scholar who has distinguished himself in many fields and endeavours. He was a former branch secretary of ASUU, founding editor of The Scholar, ASUU publication; and served in various committees and commissions of ASUU’s NDC.
Professor Egbokhare is the a former President of the Nigerian Academy of Letters and President, Open Distance and e-Learning Association of Nigeria. Professor; President of Naija (Pidgin) Studies Association.
He is chairman, patron and member of many Boards. He has served in many capacities as member or chairman of Council of Nigerian Universities, chairman and member of visitation panels, consultant, trainer and researcher on higher education.
Professor Egbokhare is a Fellow of some academic and professional bodies, among which are: the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, the Nigerian Academy of Letters, West African Linguistic Society, Linguistic Association of Nigeria, Association of Nigerian Authors, Institute of Development Administration of Nigeria and Institute of Social Work of Nigeria. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the University of Benin. He has been a Visiting Scholar to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, USA, the University of Georgia at Athens, USA, University of Hamburg and the National Universities Commission.
