Dear Professor Falola,
I recently came across this reel video on instagram about who were originally called Yoruba before the British came in contact with a land now called Nigeria. The speaker on this video indicated that only the Oyo people
were called Yoruba while others such as Ijebu, Egba, Ondo and others were called according to their dialect. I have never read this in any history book but l would like to verify this information with you as an historian. The video is attached below.
