      The global economic cost of visual impairment   is put at 411 billion dollars a year! This was revealed  in the guardian, october 14 2021 by adebukunola adefule- ositelu,a professor and consultant ophthalmologist at the  college of medicine university of lagos 

 I just got this report filed in THI DAY  on august 30, 2022, ,captioned   SIGHTSAVERS   call for rights inclusion for people with disabilities  and yesterday  september 17 2022m 30 million Nigerians living with disabilities are likely to go blind.-  SIGHTSAVERS  Vanguard newspaper. We need to take these up with our 18 presidential candidates. They  all have eyes.

           The last time I wrote on   ijebu ode and the wonderful world of children I did state that the adeola odutola foundation  was launched on august 30 2012.  Which marked the birth of maurice hilleman the  King of Vaccines what i failed to state is that the Eyes are said to  be  the “KIng of the  Body” and the speciality of medicine that addresses the eye, which is ophthalmic surgery has been described as  the most prestigious of the medical speciilities.it is said to be to medicine what golf is to recreation and sports  and this is where we find Professor  Oyin Olurin  and  Dr.Ben Ajayi ex, president ophthalmology society of nigeria./And  still talking of  Kings because the Queen is no more , God save the King!/ King Charles  III.”   there used to be  The King of Surgery,Professor Toriola Solanke spouse to the queen of Law, Chief  Folake Solanke SAN  once described as the worl;ds most powerful woman on account of being the first non caucasuin  president of  Zonta International a professional and business women's organization founded on november 8 1919, usa.professor  Toriola Solanke used to be president of the Pan African Congress of Surgeons. Thre other names and disstinghuished sourgeons in a class of their own,you have the Professors  JIde Ajayi,AKIN adesola and Emmanuel Elebute. Please look them up. I pray that the Historians would remember you.your good deeds/  there is  also  the King or Dean of Medical Historians,Professor Adelola  Adeloye.

  Professor Oyin olurin, herself a member and  ex-, president of Zonta in Nigeria, nigeria's first woman  professor of medicine, Queen of Medicine turned 88  this year. Please look her up. she is the subject of a book titled, oyinade odutola olurin  A Rare Gem edited by adetokubo lucas  and kayode oyediran
