An Opinion Against the Backdrop of the Political Complexity of Nigeria, and the Current Wahala

I pray that the action of the US, in connivance with Tinibu’s administration, is symbolic. I hope that it is intended to further peaceful resolution to the 15-year "guerrilla warfare” against the Nigerian armed forces in the North.

So far, observers and Nigerians are unaware of the full nature of the agreement reached on the “genocide” matter with the US government following the consultations in Washington and Abuja by these governments.

Nigeria’s Foreign Minister (on Channels TV. 12/26/25) told Nigerians, and the world, that in the bilateral agreement reached by both countries “the end justifies the means.” In other words what matters, in this action by the US, is that the terrorists are defeated, and not the cost of doing so.

Suffice is to say, however, that:

  1. “It is easier to start a war than end one.” (Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez).

  1. “It is far easier to make war than peace.” (PM Georges Clemenceau).
