There is no example of the defeat of terrorism through militarism. The alleged strike was followed by statements from both governments that the "action" was executed by mutual agreement. By mutual agreement, two or more countries can relax their sovereign rights for the attainment of military, intelligence, economic or sociopolitical objectives? The choice of a northwestern, as opposed to the historically-known northeastern main theater of terrorism, raises questions that go beyond Nigeria's lingering domestic terrorism challenges. In addition, one factor stares us in the face: Trump's contradictory rhetoric in recent weeks compounds the situation.

Why?

As far as I can see Southern Nigerians are over the moon on this strike and want more.

Its in the Muslim North that people are conflicted between bringing to an end the terrorism that tortures them particularly and the context and method in which this is done.

Without APC propaganda or/and manipulations, it's unlikely Tinubu would continue beyond a first time given abrasive economic policies and bad optics.

But decisive efforts to wipe out terrorism would do much for him in the South and would do so much towards getting him a second term.

This cooperation with the Americans is one of the best things he has ever done particularly if it works.

Southerners have been spreading the view that he is either captive to or is in league with Fulani extremists and Imperialists,the foot soldiers and civil society advocates of this terror.

Proving them wrong will be one of his most significant political accomplishments.

There will be interesting developments going forward.

It's not through that there is no example of defeat of terrorism through military force.

How did Sri Lanka defeat the Tamil Tigers?

How come there has been no further Islamist terrorist attack in the US after 9/11?

What's the source of the claim that more Christians are killed in the US than Nigeria?

Does the US have any subsisting domestic terrorism?

The Nigerian situation is a situation of life and death for entire communities. There is fear and wariness everywhere.

The issue should not be ideologized.

As for the terrosits in the North tormenting their fellow Northerners and entering into the South, largely extremist and criminal Fulani as attested by fellow Fulani who defend them or acknowledge and critique them, they have no vision except theft, extortion and land control.

People are being massacred by these terrorits.

This is not the time for ideologies calling Al Shabab "African youth".

Most Southern Nigerians want the US to do their utmost to help in this crisis since the Nigerian state has been behaving as heavily compromised.

The cry for help is louder from the citizens than the politicians.

Let's try to understand the voices of the Nigerian street and the realities on the ground rather than pontificate from ideological heights.

Dialogue matters, but it is not a substitute for security. Every conflict cited combined force, containment, and negotiation, none ended through dialogue alone, and none began by legitimising armed groups while they were still killing civilians.

Politics requires a minimum monopoly of force. You cannot hold elections with groups whose primary language is coercion. Negotiation becomes meaningful after violence is constrained, not while it escalates.

The real debate is not militarism versus dialogue, but how force is governed, limited, and transitioned into politics. Pretending violence dissolves by recognition alone is not history, it is hope without strategy.

What you are saying ,that  “This cooperation with the Americans is one of the best things he has ever done, particularly if it works” would have sounded infinitely more agreeable if it could have been accurately reported as  - at the invitation of Tinubu, after due consultation with Muslim and Christian leaders, “This cooperation of the Americans is one of the best things he has ever done particularly if it works.”

Let's be brutally honest. There was your Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar fresh from talking sweet talk in Burkina Faso, to get the plane and the detained Nigerian soldiers released, and in this clip , very proud of himself about talking with the big boys, “ I spoke with Marco Rubio - extensively " ( “for about 30 minutes “) It should be interesting to listen to a recording of that telephone conversation, to put everybody at ease as to exactly what was said, what was agreed, etc.

Do you believe that Trump & Tinubu will “wipe out” terrorism in Nigeria (at considerable  civilian and infrastructural collateral damage of course) well before the next Nigerian Presidential Elections scheduled for February 2027, or will the wiping out, guns ablaze, American bombs falling over Nigeria like rain,  Nigerian flesh and blood breaking down, super javelin missiles hitting and obliterating or sometimes missing their targets and causing further collateral damage  -loss of Nigerian life, limb & property would significantly contribute to getting dear Tinubu re-elected? I don’t think so . If anything, that very first surprise attack, without any prior warning, that Christmas Day bombing of targets in Sokoto the heartland of Islam in Nigeria must have succeeded in alienating the majority of right-thinking Muslims in Sokoto and elsewhere  in the country.

Yes, indeed he also did as reported, whisper  in  the ear of his Big Pentecostal Daddy Oyedepo “ It is a religious war “ and you think that as part of that war should Nigeria’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu & wannabe Emperor Donald John Trump succeed in “wiping out terrorism” there will peace in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as a result of which  all the Igbos of the South East and everywhere else  and the Muslims of the North and South will vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu?

First of all, can you say that the terrorism in Nigeria is “Islamic” ? The cattle rustlers, murderers, ransom kidnappers , wanton looters , 419 criminals  etc are all Muslims? 

Please be careful about how you answer . It does appear that Trump is hell-bent in believing that he a pedophile Epstein-beleaguered champion of Christianity is waging a war of extermination of “Islamic terrorism” which he accuses of being guilty of “Christian genocide” in Nigeria…

a governor of one of the northern states has been reported as stating he knows where they can be found

the governor of buharis own katsina state once dialogued with them-with pictures taken of the event-but later declared that they were rogues with no ideology and even though they were fulani like himself they were thieves and murderers and no more 

that marks two governors who publicly stated they know where they are

sheik gumi, who has been advocating for them also has held photographed meetings with them

the above refers to the arm of brigandage organised largely by violent fulani and targeted at extortion, kidnapping and massacre-who were once called bandits

As for the arm of Fulani terrorism known as the Fulani militia, whose central zone of operation has been the Middle Belt but were enabled by Buhari to fan out across Nigeria, they subsist primarily through political support.

Eliminating them requires simply a policy of zero tolerance and dealing harshly with anyone, such as Mitetti Allah who supports them.

Their locations I expect are also not difficult to find out across the country since they are not socially integrated, to the best of my knowledge.

the middle belt

in a short post like the one i did i did not need to mention the middle belt because they have suffered most from terrorism by violent fulani. their own hope is likely to be that help will be extended to them to help deal with their own problem particularly since the killing of christians narrative is a way of framing their own problem  but their problem is even more politicised than that created by the assortment of criminal groups different from those operating outside the guidance and protection of miyetti allah

the muslim north

the muslim north is conflicted/divided on how to deal with the terrorism problem from the various ethnically northern criminal groups bcs of identity issues-the framing of the ''christian genocide'' narrative in the light of the fact that christians are second class citizens in the muslim north, the rhetoric of northern muslim leadership who are generally less than decisive in relation to ending terror in the region or are even enablers of this terror through their utterances-from boko haram to the more recent ''banditry'' to the fulani militia

the south

southern orientations on this subject are unified, as far as i can see. the existential threat and the national crisis is clearly understood.

islam and terrorism in nigeria

terrorism in the muslim north or emerging from it is explicitly islamic with boko haram and iswap, whose goal is the establishment of a kind of islamic state.

it is inexplicitly islamic with other criminal groups whose primary identity  might be that of soldiers of fortune but who are also muslims. their islamic religion is significant bcs it could lead to or has already led to a convergence between the islamic terrorists and their own efforts.

this religious identity also creates confusion in the muslim north, with people like sheikh gumi once referring to boko haram as ''our brothers'', along with similar expressions of identification with terrorists from the region from the 2011 boko haram escalation to the present.

the sokoto strike

i suspect that most northern muslims will be puzzled by the rationale for the location of the strike although one view states the lakurawa terror group is located in the region. the level of suffering from terrorism in the north generally, by muslims and non-muslims, is so huge that cautious expectations might be the most common reaction to the us/nigeria military alliance. 

who is a terrorist?

terrorism in nigeria's north and middle belt  is represented by sustained campaigns of massacre in order to force subjugation, internal colonization and control of resources such as  dispossession of the land of communities by repeated massacres; by systemic kidnappings and financial inflows through ransom from those kidnappings; by repeated attacks on places of worship.

this more organized form of terrrirism in reinforced by the radicalization and arming of fulani herdsmen, once peaceful but the activities of a good no of whom have now become a synonym for murder, extortion, destruction of farmlands' a situation creating a bad name for those fulani herdsmen who dont fit this profile.

the fulani dynamic

at the core of the terrorism problems emerging from the north is the weaponization of the  trans-national and islamic identity of the fulani, employed by extremist fulani as a cover for terrorism.

the fulani jihad created a kind of islamic identity in the muslim north that has created difficulties for the full integration of the region into the idea of a secular nation.

this tension is reinforced by the political dominance of the primary beneficiaries of the jihad,  the fulani leadership, who were so placed because the religio-ethnic character of the jihad.

a good no of the most powerful voices of the fulani leadership use terrorism in the north as a means of advancing politico/religious/ethic agendas. other fulani voices do not challenge them.

these range from Muhammadu Buhari once declaring that the war against Boko Haram is war against the North, to Miyetti Allah Fulani Socio Cultural Organization severally justifying massacres by Fulani militia as the Buhari govt gave political cover to them and violent Fulani herdsmen, to the Fulani professor who, in the face  of Fulani militia massacres in the Middle Belt declared that Benue belongs to the Fulani by right of conquest and more.

the trump factor

trump's intervention makes the manly holes in the nigerian govts approach to terrorism more glaring as scrutiny by nigerians  intensifies and the govt could be pushed into addressing the issue decisively. 

in that context, the US terrible record in Gaza and in some other parts of the world and trump's personal contradictions becomes secondary for many.

terrorism and nigerian politics

tinubu's two major challenges are economics and security, with security being the more deadly on account of its implications for the integrity of the nation.

his legacy is already in serious trouble. 

    terrorism in the north

if he makes good progress on the northern terrorism crisis he will escape being seen in the south as a pawn of or enabler of the designs of northern muslim extremists. a good no of northern muslims will also appreciate freedom from terror.

        terrorism in the SE

the SE also has a terrorism problem implicated with politics in a different way from that of the north. decisively addressing that problem without alienating the SE and while demonstrating sensitivity to the sense of alienation from nigerian identity expressed by many from the region will be a historic achievement.

         economics

if he is able to positively  change the economic fortunes of nigerians, he would have reshaped the current image of him as an economic suffering creator.

political projection

these two achievements, if well projected by his political team, will give him a good chance of reelection outside manipulating the electorate by formenting inter-ethnic conflict- a key strategy of APC Lagos- and outside opaque electoral procedures, a major problem with his earlier election as President.

After years of fighting, Sparta defeated Athens but we know more about Athens today because of their intellectual properties whereas the strongest men of Sparta remain relatively unknown.

Militarism is a wasteful parasitic institution that Africans should shy away from. especially because we do not manufacture the weapons of mass destruction that some foreigners wish to impose on us as foreign aid. After WWII, the victorious Allied Forces imposed pacifist constitutions on Germany, Italy, and Japan. The result is that those three defeated countries are among the most powerful economies today. China borrowed a leaf from them and invested heavily in the economy while relatively decreasing the share of the resources by the military on average. The rest is history. The victorious allied forces of Russia, US, and UK did not get the memo and continued with the arms race and war mongering at the cost of depressing their economies. Africa can learn from their errors.

Militarism is yet to deliver the final solution to any conflict situation. Militarism tends to make such situations worse. ZThat is probably why Gramsci theorized that a more effective leadership comes through intellectual and moral leadership or hegemony rather than through violent force alone. Whenever the dominant group tries to rely mainly on force or the imaginary monopoly of violence, it is an indication of hegemonic crisis. Similarly, Rosa Luxemburg warned against German imperialism in Africa and predicted that such greed would pith European workers against one another in a blood bath. Du Bois made similar warnings after WWI. Marx and Engels called for the formation of a Party of Social Democracy and not for guerrilla armies or suicide bombers.

For similar reasons, Fanon concluded that what we need urgently is revolutionary literature for the education nd mobilization of the Fellas to join the party and ensure with their votes that the comprador classes do not take over the repressive tools of the colonizers and use them to dominate the people militarily. Unfortunately, scholars who specialize in writing books instead of shooting missiles continue to believe that Fanon was calling for violence against Africans by African phantom bourgeoisie. Fanon was a psychiatrist who saw violence as a sign of mental illness

Military dictators in Africa used to bel;ieve that power flows through the barrels of a gun but Ruth First proved that the pen is mightier than the sword given the fact that no military regime lasts forever even whil;e holding on to guns. Apartheid also beleived that having the strongest military in Africa with nuclear weapons made them invincible but the anti-apartheid movement proved that the people united will never be defeated.

Democracy is not wishful thinking. It is the system of government preferred by the masses. The electoral process would not be enough to prevent violence. However, combined with heavy investments in education, infrastructure, and industrialization, there is likely to be significant increase in happiness and civility, making militarism obsolete. Yes, the Middle East crisis would be more effectively solved through a single state solution for all residents to share the territory on the basis of one person one vote and the right of refugees to return. The decades of relying on militarism have proven that War is good for absolutely nothing.

How does this align with my views?

Military force is critical in defeating and as a deterrent against violent ideologies, particularly those that want to overthrow the state.

Secondly, I hold that even in Northern Nigeria, with a Muslim majority population, any group that pursues its goals of creating a particular kind of Islamic society through terrorism rather than through the democratic process must never be legitimized, never be integrated into politics for any reason so as to avoid a degeneration into poisoned ideologies aligned with inhumane ways of reading the Quran and other foundations of Islamic thought.

There is a critical need to decouple Islam from the colonising and imperial culture of violent jihad, one of the greatest problems of the modern world.

Boko Haram, ISWAP, ISIS, who are seeking to impose their version of Islam on others through violence are of course different from Hamas who are seeking justice in connection with the loss of Palestinian homeland.

While you engage in  ''heavy investments in education, infrastructure, and industrialization [ leading to] significant increase in happiness and civility'' how best should you respond to terrorist campaigns of murder and massacre?

Preach to them?

Dialogue with them as Nigeria has been doing as they escalate their campaigns and take over increasing ranges of territory?

Nigeria is already ''a single state [in which] all residents share the territory on the basis of one person one vote'', yet some are insisting that is not enough for them as they want to dominate the social space through murder, massacre and terror.

The Nigerian situation is very different from the struggle between the Palestinians and Israel. 

i wonder why Biko is in effect sermonizing out of context, preaching a doctrine that is impractical as a single solution to the issues being discussed.

I’m not sure I can agree with this interpretation of Hamas. There are many groups seeking justice for the Palestinians. Some are secular Arab nationalist or have other political philosophies. Hamas is trying to do it by imposing their interpretation of Islam on others. They are Jihadi Islamic terrorists. Their particular version of Jihadism descends from the Muslim Brothers through their Secret Apparatus, and is different from other Jihadi terrorist groups (ISIS was thrown out of al-Qa’ida, and Boko Haram was thrown out of ISIS), but it is still jihadi terrorism that is trying to impose its version of Islam on others.

Oluwatoyin was excited at the bombardment, by the US Navy warship stationed in the Gulf of Guinea, of what was described as 'ISIS hideouts' said to be located within the Bauni forest axis of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in the early morning of December 26, 2025. Oluwatoyin extrapolated his joy over the bombardment to all the people of Southern Nigeria thus, "As far as I can see, Southern Nigerians are over the moon on this strike and want more. This cooperation with the Americans is one of the best things he (Tinubu) has ever done, particularly, if it works." Even when Oluwatoyin is not sure if the air bombardment of the said ISIS hideouts in Sokoto will end Islamist's uprising in the North he is, however, wishing for more air strikes regardless of if the measure taken is right and effective against the cause(s) of the uprising. After the US had carried out the Air strikes in Sokoto, President Donald Trump wrote on his Social Truth Platform thus, "Happy Christmas to you all, including the dead terrorists, of which there are going to be  several more, if their slaughter of Christians continues."  The Arch-Bishop of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah, had previously denied that the conflict in the North was between Muslims and Christians and the death tolls caused by the terrorists have proportionately been more on the side of the majority Muslims in Sokoto than the minority Christians there. In addition to that the Federal Government of Nigeria self has denied that there is ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria. Obviously, the Nigerian government and President Trump's US government are not in agreement on the cause(s) of terrorism in Nigeria, especially in the North.

Gracefully and gratefully, Professor Victor Okafor posed two questions demanding answers on the targets for the US precision air strikes in Sokoto. The questions are: (1) Why the choice of North-western targets in Nigeria? (2) Is the North West rather than the North east, the main source of the scourge of Boko Haram/Islamic terrorism all these years in Nigeria?

Answering the questions properly will expose His Excellency as His Fraudulency Donald Trump. As at the end of year 2024, Sokoto state had 94,729 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) driven by terrorists from their farms and homes in Sokoto State to live in tents, refugee camps. The States of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe have together 4.4 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of which 2.4 million are from Borno as at the end of 2024. Certainly the figures must have increased in 2025. The absolute majority of IDPs dwelling permanently in refugee camps in Adamawa, Borno, Yobe and Sokoto are Muslims, but after the order of His Fraudulency, President Donald Trump, to bomb ISIS hideouts in Sokoto, Northwest, the refugees remain stocked in camps and still cannot return home. If the precision strikes had been directed at the North Central States of Benue and Plateau where majority of the IDPs living in refugee camps are Christians and followed by the refugees returning to their homes, Trump's air strikes order in defence of his purported fellow Nigerian Christians would have been considered reasonable. Air strikes while the IDPs in Nigeria remain in refugee camps are just like giving loin cloths to people shivering under heavy harmattan breeze.

Reflecting on the past 26 years of Constitutional rule in Nigeria, one will discover that the cause of banditry, kidnap for ransom, insurrection and armed robberies is lack of patriotism to the nation on the part of civil/military leaders. Despite the fact that they are handsomely remunerated above the general purchasing power of Nigerian masses, funds meant for education, infrastructure, defence and security have been stolen with impunity by the joint civil-military leaders of the country. Child Rights and Universal Basic Education Acts, 2003, in conjunction with the letters of Section 18 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, actually make education free and compulsory up to junior secondary school. Neither the Universal Basic Acts, 2003, nor Section 18 of the 1999 Constitution has been complied with by the civilian administrators of Nigeria. In the North the Universal Basic Education Act was not even adopted and signed into law, as required by the Constitution, except by 8 out of 19 States. The Governors and Commissioners of Education in all the Northern States became millionaires while children denied and deprived education graduated into banditry and kidnapping for ransom. Responding to the feudal aristocrats claim that Allah gives money to whoever He pleases, the Almajiri warriors queried about what the feudal aristocrats had done for Allah to make them rich but which they, the Almajiris had not done to make Allah give them money. It would appear as if Allah gave Almajiris gun to get back their own share of national wealth from the greedy feudal aristocrats and their allies. 

Section 16 (2d) of the 1999 Constitution stipulates, "The State shall direct its policy towards ensuring that suitable and adequate shelter, suitable and adequate food, reasonable national living minimum wage, old age care and pensions, unemployment and sick benefits, and welfare of the disabled, are provided for."  Twenty-six years after this section of the Constitution was written, no attempt has been made to implement it. Stealing of funds with impunity by public officials whether in military uniforms or civilian attires have been the order of the days and years. Bandits, terrorists and insurgents  would not have constituted any problem to the Nigerian Armed Forces if funds allocated to purchase arms, recruit police and soldiers are expended for the purpose for which funds were allocated. Instead, Service Chiefs converted allocated funds to their personal wealth, and whenever bandits, terrorists and insurgents came, they were confronted with ghost policemen and ghost soldiers. President Trump can bomb as much as he wants in Nigeria, but as long as there are no adequate number of ground forces to counter and repel illegal armed fighters, security of citizens, regardless of religious faith, will never be certain.

I was answering a question raised by Rabbi Cornel, on whether the proposal to resolve terrorism through non-violence (as is often the case) is feasible in Gaza. I say that it is given that the Palestinian Authority was regarded as a terrorist organization until the Oslo accord. Ditto for the ANC, PAC, and the CPSA and the IRA or the Marxist guerrillas of Columbia. Democracy remains the worst system of government except for all the alternatives, said Churchill. Democracy will never solve all our problems but more democracy is always the best solution to crises in a democracy.

The solution to genocide is not more genocide. It is the forgiveness of the unforgivable, according to Derrida who found this more common in the African tradition than in the religions of the book, though Tutu retorted that there is no such thing as the unforgivable in the philosophy of Ubuntu. If people of African descent are not seeking for revenge against Europeans and Arabs for 1000 years of enslavement, if the Igbo are not seeking retaliation for the genocide against them in Biafra, and if South Africans are not seeking genocide against whites for the crimes of apartheid, since they only demand reparative justice; surely Africans can seek healing and forgiveness for African youth and  emphasize the funding of education and social services while shunning the weapons of mass destruction being pushed by imperialism to aid genocide in order to facilitate the extractivism of natural resources.

Those of you who are hailing the racist bombing of Nigeria by a white supremacist administration should ask yourselves why Trump has never contemplated bombing a majority white country and why he is not inviting thousands of Nigerian Christians to move to the US with asylum the way he is doing for white South Africans? If the US wants to help Nigerian Christians, let them start by paying reparations for slavery, let them support the reunification of Africans under one federal government, and let them seize all the bank accounts of corrupt politicians and their properties in the US and return them to the masses of Africa. No to imperialist bombing!

My own not so solid background in Nigerian History is almost exclusively based on Michael Crowder's The Story of Nigeria ( 1978 edition) and as far as background history goes, I find the contents therein, quite sufficient.

Last night I talked to one of the relatives of Herbert Macaulay ( for approximately 59 minutes of recorded time ) and among other things, he told me that Nigeria is already naturally divided into three, by the tributaries of the River Niger, and that Sir Anthony Eden the former British Prime Minister ( 1955-57) said that after the 1959 General Elections in Nigeria and prior to Nigerian Independence on 1st October, 1960, that Chief Obafemi Jeremiah Oyeniyi Awolowo was intelligent enough to be Prime Minister of the UK , and that Zik wasn't that bad either,  and that the elections were rigged in favour of the North that wasn’t as enthusiastic about catching up Westernization etc etc. Please take note, if you already haven’t, that that was well before Harold Macmillan and his maiden "Wind of Change " speech, supporting Nigerian Independence

Knowledge and understanding is king and you seem to have an overabundance of both  with regard to the current in situation in Nigeria, as does, I suppose, the Nigerian Minister of Information, the UK’s Naval attaché over there , and I would, if I could, talk to him too, better still, of course, I’d much prefer to talk to the Almighty, the OMNISCIENT about what the hell is going on in Ukraine, The Gulf of Mexico, Venezuela, the Persian Gulf, the South China Sea, Gaza & The West Bank, Argentina, Somaliland, the delays in final unleashment of the Epstein Files to get a comprehensive grasp of the situation in those locations and their environs and with a good view as what could be done about these state of affairs with a little bit of timely Divine Intervention to save Commander-in-Chief Trump from being swept away by the fallout, in response to those who pray to the Almighty to intercede with some of the powerful kinds of Divine Interventions of which only the Almighty is capable.

Your advice reminds me of the very first word in the Quranic revelation; that word is a Divine Command uttered by the Archangel Gabriel, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala’s emissary to Prophet Muhammad - salallahu alaihi wa salaam, and that word is IQRA !  - Read ! - which makes utter nonsense of the translation that’s rendered Boko Haram  - when the command of every Muslim is to read and indeed the word AQL ( intellect, reason etc) is mentioned 77 times in the Holy Quran  - moreover there is this Sahih hadith “ Seek knowledge wherever you can find it ! “ - “Seek knowledge even if you have to travel to China” and here we are talking about beneficial knowledge such as science and mathematics and medicine, at which earlier Muslim Civilizations excelled and led the way. But on Christmas Day I suppose that the Nigerian security services and the associate terrorists that you  & the Nigerian media say are all over the place, were busy jollificating ( like Jolly Papa) & celebrating and doing their thing as they will also be doing on New Year’s Eve,  and as they were doing in Ghana  on that propitious eve 31/12/ 1981 on which Junior Jesus ( JJ Rawlings)  did his second coming, and the Muhammadu Buhari-Tunde Idiagbon combo also chose to strike two years after Jerry , on 31/ 12/ 1983  - of course the Nigerians who were saturated with local news didn’t see it coming, but I did - I did smell a rat, because I attended a party at the officers mess when Sani Abacha was in town ( in Port Harcourt ) about two weeks earlier ( invited by a good friend) and my suspicions were further raised ten days later when external communications had all been cut, and the only place from which I could phone to Sweden, was Scanastra whose Port Harcourt Swedish manager was a useful friend  - but that's another story. Back then  the rate of exchange was 1 Naira =$1 / £1 Sterling, today the rate of exchange of the Naira  is  0.00051 Pound sterling and that’s the measure , a reliable indice, a comparative measure of deterioration and the comparative increase in the poor man’s shufferation,  all ethnicities and religious affiliations inclusive , no exception,

My own assumption is that the strikes on alleged Sokoto targets were merely symbolic ,to demonstrate to the sceptics and disbelievers that such a strike can be done and such strikes will be done, in accordance with the Lord’s Prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven “ 

All the information that can be gleaned from the Nigerian  social media jungle, Sahara Reports, Premium Times etc and the analysis thereof of the prevailing Naija people's mood -as they react to the high cost of living and the coming impact of the bombings and the escalation of other terrorist  activities,  must be very useful for the journalists who earn their daily bred  reporting  and commenting on what’s happening 24 hours a day to the long shuffering people of Nigeria; as to the outcome/s of the bombing and even some of the alleged state-sponsored terrorism,   I’d be more interested in what could be learned from e.g. US military intelligence - it’s scary that they know or have access to every nook and cranny in a sovereign state like Nigeria

My personal worry which has perhaps not been voiced in the Nigerian social media, is the possibility of reprisal attacks on Christians, when those most disastrously affected by the unrestrained kuffar-American bombardment take stock of the damage done, the wanton loss of life, livelihoods and property, the destruction of their holy places of worship and come to the sober conclusion that the it was Christians who most probably went crying to Donald Trump, petitioning him  to save them from the ongoing Christian  Holocaust in Nigeria and exhorting him ( Champion Crusader) to bomb Muslim targets mercilessly  - Pastor Adeboye for example only had this to say  before the bombing started : Pastor Enoch Adeboye's advice to the Nigerian Government about Trump's threat

I notice that Erik Esbjörnsson’s words “ I samband med detta ifrågasattes Trumps verklighetsbild av president Bola Tinubu som också påpekade att regeringen försöker skydda alla nigerianer, oavsett religiös tillhörighet.” which I originally read in Swedish, more truly  translates as “ In connection with this, Trump's view of reality was questioned by President Bola Tinubu who also pointed out that the government is trying to protect all Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation.”  and not as auto translated in what I forwarded -as “ In connection with this,Trump's reality was questioned by President Bola Tinubu …” -So I had to double check whether or not the original that I read  had possibly stated ”  In connection with this, Trump's SANITY was being questioned by President Bola Tinubu…” 

Looking further afield into the fast approaching, unstoppable future, your worry should be, who will have the power to tell the US Military that they have helped enough and should please leave before the mess escalates into a regional war between Nigeria +USA +France against landlocked Niger + Burkina Faso +Mali +their allies….
