and the holy words

To all my Muslim friends, let us reflect on some of the powerful statements and prayers of the Prophet and any of his Companions as backdrops for our messages of good wishes and best greetings to our fellow humans as we usher in 2021.

  1. One of the prophet’s prayers on the sighting of the new moon or appearance of a New Year:

God is the Most Great.

Oh God, give us the New Moon(Year)with security and faith,

with peace and submissiveness

and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him.

Our Lord and your Lord is God.

  1. From among the famous statements of Umar bin Al Khattab, the Companion of the Prophet and second Kalifah (leader of the Muslims after the death of the prophet):

-“Go easy on yourself, for the outcome of all affairs is determined by God’s Decree.

And if something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come your way but if it is yours, from you it cannot flee”.

-“I wish you know what I have in my heart for you.

There is no way for you to know except by my actions”.

-“One who does not live in the way of his beliefs, starts to believe in the way he lives”.

- What you give to gain some favor will not multiply in return but what you give for the sake of God”

-“God loves moderation and hates extravagance and excess “

All my friends, many of you that I have not met and may never meet:

"It's the year 2021, I am grateful that you have walked into this new year.

I pray that the Lord will guide and keep you.

I pray your endeavors will yield great success and that all you might have lost in 2020 will be replenished more abundantly.

Happy new year to you and yours".

As I close this short series, I give the final voice to the organic talent from Botswana. She died two years ago.
