The interplay of power, politics, and policies is fundamental to understanding governance and social order. Political systems centre on power, the ability to manipulate or regulate behaviour and results. Politics – the practice of power-wrestling and power-sharing – is a series of activities and institutions that make decisions about society. Policy, the choices and actions of policymakers, are means by which social purposes are met and public interests are protected.   This trifecta is played out in an ever-changing arena where interests, beliefs and policies collide.
