Today was Election Day in Ivory Coast.
The opposition grouped together and decided that they would not participate in the election. They declared the candidacy of Ouattara illegal and the election null and void.
So Ouattara would just stuff ballot boxes and declare himself the winner. Right?
It does not seem to be going that way because ballot boxes were burnt to ashes in most towns, and in Abidjan, few people voted. The total voter
population was down to less than ten percent of the population, I am told.
At 30 or 40 percent turnout, he can stuff ballot boxes. At less than ten it becomes less feasible. But in any case, there were few ballot boxes to stuff since most were burnt to ashes.
Will Ouattara declare himself the winner tomorrow morning at dawn?
The opposition says that he is no longer the President of Ivory Coast.
Time will tell.
