My friend  boss and brother  and more Taslim Abiola Layonu publisher  of ibadan mail magazine survived  a motor  accident but his wife and in-laws did not  make it. May their souls rest in peace.

Borrowing  from Baba  obasanjo  I would advise  Talim Augustine Abiola layonu  to transform  a personal tragedy  into public  good  by using his skills  as a communicator. a veteran  journalist.  A public relations  man. A historian. biographer  and autobiographer. A publisher  to bring safety  to nigerian roads. he also read law

.

 On this platform  long before  his accident  I had severally referred  to him as a good  man  in  Africa. 

 If you  look through the  history  of the Nobel prizes  for medicine.many of those  prizes were won because  there was a death  in he family  and so some  family  members were propelled  to study  medicine.to find a cure  to the ailments  that affected their deceased and loved ones

.. And a nobel prize  as a result of converting  a personal  tragedy  into a public  good. THERE ARE HERE   great  lessons for  nigerians.

I would also call  for Rose  layonu memorial  prize for  statistics  and Rose Layonu  memorial prize for home  economics. And a prize  for public administration on her name.she was a permanent secretary. Retired. 

Before  moving on I appeal  to nigerians  to donate  blood if they can afford  to.do not  sell your blood. Do not leave blood donations  to the pyrate  confraternity  other wise  known  as national association of Sea Dogs. Their  founder is   wole soyinka  father  of Road safety  in nigeria also  known as captain blood. 

.blood  is very important  to accident victims  in the emergency ward. After Nobel prize  winner wole  soyinka no one has made  it his or her own personal  business  as safety  on nigerian road's.

Every one fir himself  God.  Google Bill Gates  for us all. 

 Nigeria  has  the worst  record  of road accidents world wide. 

Taslim Augustine  layonu  can make  Road safety  on nigeria or  Africa rosds his personal  business 

I would  suggest  a programme  on national  television. And a setting up of a think tank  to be appropriately named  to reflect  the names of the deceased 

The academic  study of the way  forward  for Road safety  in nigeria.

Taslim layonu  has previously  planned The SAKA LAYONU CENTRE for THE STUDY of the PRESIDENCY.  In memory  of his distinguished  father SAka Layonu  the first  global Ede citizen. 

Perhaps  that's why  he became  an exponent  and pioneered the  idea of the  ibadan  Global  city project.

He is a fond son of Kabiyesi  olubadan of ibadan land Oba  Rsshidi Ladoja.

Late Mrs Rose layonu  was an excellent  cook. a serial entrepreneur  and an astute administrator. Devoted wife and a diligent  mother  and  a staunch  Catholic.  And more

I got a taste  of her culinary skills  when I worked for her husband  Taslim Augustine  layonu.

Taslim Augustine  layonu  gave me  my first real  job at the  Age of 40

. I was  still eating  from my mother s pot  of stew  at 40! I did not  know my left  hand  from my right hand.  Taslim  Augustine  layonu literally  took me by the  hand and taught  me how to write. He taught  me how  to write news.

 My father had practically  given up  on what to do with his son at 40 still  living  in the  main house  and no job.

When I got this job through  my mother  same  church of ascension  Bodija as Taslim Augustine  layonu. my father  came to my office  to see things for  himself.

My fathers  face lit up  like they  say  like an Electric  Bulb 

He was all smiles.

It what all father's want for their children  the difficult  to get jobs. 53.million  now unemployed  in nigeria!!r

.so why should  such an unfortunate thing happen  to a good man in Africa   Taslim Augustine  layonu?

It's not exactly  known why her parents gave her the name Rose. She was very fair skinned  my mum was dark skinned  but also  took the name rose. A black rose. 

My late mother was also  good at some delicacies.

By catholic History  we have saint Rose  of Lima  largely  celebrated  in south America  on August  30.which happens to be my birthday
