Fine article.

But....

if Miyetti Allah Fulani organisation can claim responsibility for massacres of hundreds and get hugely rewarded in return by the right wing Fulani led govt, why should others from the same neck of the woods not do the same?

If MACBAN, a similar Fulani organization can be granted billions by the same  govt to prevent its members from engaging in kidnapping and other criminalities, why should others in the same neck of the woods not also get such monies as fruits of criminality?

Recommendations by Falola, none of which I expect to  be implemented-

  Tackle the degeneration of the state of insecurity. Were things as bad as this when President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in some Northern states? Why does it seem like the Buhari administration cares less about what is happening all over the nation? Reactive and peace-sustaining measures should be put in place to tackle insecurity in the nation permanently

• [ Will Buhari declare a state of emergency in Kaduna state, the state of his fellow ethnic ideologue, El Rufai and thereby weaken Rufai and the ethnocentric Fulani agenda unfolding there? No.
  
  Will he do anything to stop the depredations of so called bandits in other Northern states, ''bandits'' being perhaps a polite term for Fulani militia? No.

• Its clear the locations of the bandits are well known, as evident from Gumi's well publicized interaction with them]

• Arrest guilty persons and make them face the full wrath of the law. When the preparators of these evils begin to see the iron-handed handling of rounded-up bandits and kidnappers, it will pass a message to them that the Buhari government is no longer lackadaisical towards the attacks on the nation’s citizens. If the same General Buhari ran the “War Against Indiscipline” campaign, why not start a “War Against Insecurity” campaign? A message has to be passed to these evildoers;

• [ The degeneration to this level of horror began with the recurrent massacres of hundreds of people in the Middle Belt by Fulani herdsmen militia even as Miyetti Allah Fulani organization claimed responsibility and justified the killings.
  
  The govt openly supported the herdsmen and Miyetti Allah.
• The consensus from the Fulani elite is that the Fulani herdsmen in the South accused of kidnapping and other horrors are being unjustly maligned.
  
  So, should anyone expect any serious action against them and any others guilty of the same crimes? No.]
• Cohesively unite to promote the “One Nigeria” agenda. The reference to some citizens of the country as “Biafran boys” by a top government official is not needed at such a heightened moment as this. We must shun and unitedly combat anything that threatens our continued existence as a nation;
• [ Really? The only serious threat to the current stranglehold on Nigeria by Fulani imperialism is the politics delegitimizing vision of IPOB.  Why should such people not be criminalized by the terrorist govt?]
• It does not stop at unitedly standing for our nation’s oneness; the government must also be willing to commit to the nation’s development and cater to the welfare and well-being of the people. Biases and nepotism are not needed. What will be the justification of aborting secessionist tendencies if the nation whose oneness we are trying to protect has little to nothing to offer those who wish to depart?
• [ Once everyone agrees to Fulani hegemony, its possible this unrest will cease as Boko Haram is granted control over the areas it has seized, with oversight by the right wing Fulani led govt. That's the direction in which I see the Boko Haram struggle going]
• Make scapegoats of criminals. Banditry and general insecurity are on the rise because those involved have seen it as a lucrative business. In place of monetary exchanges, unscrupulous reintegration into society, and other overblown aid and support given to bandits, the government should consider, as a matter of urgency, the arrest and proper prosecution of anyone who deems it fit and justifiable to kidnap and maim large numbers of citizens as a means of making money. These bandits should not be treated like princes; but like the criminals that they are.''
