PROFESSOR JIDE OSUNTOKUN TO INTERVIEW THE ALAAFIN

 

Professor Jide Osuntokun completed his B.A. at Ibadan in 1966 and his Ph.D. at Dalhousie in 1970. This has been followed by a long and distinguished career as a professor, administrator, and ambassador. Now a Professor Emeritus both at the University of Lagos and Redeemer’s University, his productivity has been legendary. Among his notable books are POWER BROKER: A Biography of Sir. Kashim Ibrahim; Chief S.L.A. Akintola: His Life and Times; Nigeria in the First World War; Equatorial Guinea – Nigerian Relations, The Diplomacy of Labour; and Government and Politics for West African Students. He received the Presidential Honour, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Malabo in 1970, and Officer, Order of the Niger (OON), Nigeria in 2004. The fascinating story of his life has been captured in the memoir ABIDAKUN: An Autobiography of Professor Akinjide Osuntokun.
