Dr. Sola Olorunyomi is a Research Reader of Cultural and Media Studies at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is the author of the internationally-acclaimed Afrobeat! Fela and the Imagined Continent. He has researched expressive cultures fairly extensively across West Africa and the Caribbean. He is currently concluding two research works: One, _”In Search of Lucumi,”_ a three-decade-old research on Atlantic diasporic Yoruba since the sixteen hundreds and, second, “The Agency of Unborn: Wombiture as Digital Futures,” conceived as a strategy of reading Futures in the era of Tertiary Orality.
