Speculation is rife about who is going to be awarded The Nobel Peace Prize 2025 ( according to that Google search ) and the news is not very different from what we scrounge - what comes up from the belly of the whale when we search The Nobel Peace Prize ( Bing) - a scavenger's harvest.
By way of introduction to this topic, let me just say that as for me, I’ll just go on singing Nkosi sikelel’Afrika, and, echoing what Chairman Arafat used to say, anybody who doesn’t like it can go kiss , not the bitter waters of marah but the acrid waters of The Dead Sea; alternately, still echoing Madiba Nelson Mandela when he visited Muammar Gaddafi, those who don’t like to “can go jump in a pool” or better still , in my opinion, those who don’t like what I’m about to say can go jump into the lake of fire , by which I mean the lake of fire that Hon Minister Louis Farrakhan is always talking about
Since like Caesar, Trump “doth bestride the world like a colossus”, and because
(self-promotion ) Trump has been doing a lot of egregious chest beating (typical of him) and talking a lot about winning the Nobel Peace Prize , the main speculation is “ Can Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 ?”( Bing)

I’m sure that John Bolton and some of the US Generals, and maybe Alhaji Falola too, has other ideas
Of course, knowing Trump as we do ( he wears his emotions on his sleeve) which means that if he is not awarded the Prize that Brother Obama was awarded, since he won’t be able to get over it ( to get over being so slighted, snubbed, downgraded on the world stage, he won’t be so easily able to brush off the “I was ripped off” feeling ) he’s going to tell the Nobel Peace Prize Committee that they are just a bunch of losers. He might even tell them to all go to hell…
Personally, I think that should there be that kind of minor mishap, having only recently “obliterated”/ bombed Iran’s underground nuclear research centre into oblivion and now at the cusps of war/ invasion of Venezuela, a sovereign nation, he should cheer up and stay positive with the thought that if he doesn’t get the Peace Prize this year, it could be better luck for him next year.
Yesterday, the second Anniversary of October 7, I visited some of the Israeli media, started with ILTV where Netanyahu was having a field day, and wound up with the right-wing hardliners in Israpundit. What’s clear is that Trump is doing all he can to put tremendous pressure on all concerned to accept the so-called 20-point Gaza peace deal that he and his best friends in Tel Aviv are said to have cooked up, and with no trustworthy guarantees written in stone, they just want Hamas to sign where it says sign here.
My uninformed hunch is that Marwan Barghouti ( putatively being touted as possibly the Palestinian's Nelson Mandela - albeit according to the Israelis despite his having “so much Jewish blood on his hands” being on the prisoner exchange list could go a long way in finally clinching the deal
Given that the winner will be announced at 1100hrs GMT on Thursday, 10th October there is a possible window of opportunity that if the Hamas Deal is signed sealed and delivered before that hour, Trump might be crowned as Netanyahu's earthly “King of Glory”

Great Expectations : With my covert hints and outright declarations of self-glorification Donald J. Trump had been actively campaigning to be awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize , and if you’re sympathetic to him, you could say that to his chagrin, disappointment and maybe rage, it simply didn’t happen.
This too is history : I was ready and waiting at 11 hrs GMT this morning ensconced in my sofa, comfortably perched in front of my Swedish TV to hear live and direct, The Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Committee's verdict on Trump’s Peace Prize aspirations , and as I waited for the announcement to be made I couldn't help wondering if Trump was also on highest alert as to whether he was going to be awarded THE PRIZE not - and if indeed he was the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, how he would erupt into ecstasy, maybe do a little jig, and of course, him winning the prize? With much chest-beating, that greatness of achievement would be one of his major talking points for the rest of his presidency, with Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, and Taiwan still waiting patiently on his plate.
I intended to do my own post-mortem on the announcement under the relevant thread but for now I’ll only say that I can’t remember whether or not I pushed the send button yesterday, and just in case I didn’t, just for the record, here is what I wrote ( unedited) :
