Trust The Telegraph, a British conservative media mouthpiece to publish such unabashed, genocidal trash: to want to do to the overwhelmingly non-combatant population of Gaza what even Hitler didn't want to do to the non-combatant Britishers’ old men, women and children - i.e. wipe them out or to take over their Colonial Empire which included Chidi’s beloved Nigeria, Rhodesia and South Africa.

As in both advertising and propaganda, there's some suggestive, subtle, subliminal wordplay in “Hamas is blackmailing the West into submission” - since submission - Submission to Allah is a perfect definition of what Islam is.
In other words, the title is shrewdly suggestive of the idea that Hamas who are Islamic - as defined by themselves and the Hamas Covenant // the Hamas Charter - it is that Hamas which is being accused of “blackmailing” the West into submitting to them, and through them to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
Hopefully, that is not too far-fetched for Chidi the poet to imagine, is it?
And since Chidi the African Christian supposedly identifies with the Christian Colonial West and their incarnate God, Lord and Saviour, the Jewish guy Jesus, allegedly born of a virgin Mary, crucified and miraculously resurrected after three days in Hades / Gehinnom, the idea of submitting to Hamas or Allah is anathema to a good Missionary African Christian like Chidi; so the very word “submission” is calculated to promote and provoke some resistance in Chidi and his Zionist allies throughout the Crusader West.
Alternately - and more dramatically the headline could have read “Hamas would like to bludgeon the West into Submission” - when in fact it is the genocidal Zionists with their tanks, bombs and machine guns that are currently bludgeoning the defenceless, helpless non-combatant old men (like Joe Biden) women and children into submission, the predatory, land-grabbing settler Zionists arriving by land, sea and air from every corner of the planet.

One not-so-important difference between me and Chidi is that I have more “ free” time at my disposal. This means that whilst Chidi is busy with his freight-forwarding, busy diagnosing and criticising the ills that he finds are rampant in the Naija polity, busy composing pontificating and spreading his poetry at the Owerri Motor Park and in the digital beyond, at my leisure I may be scouring the wide range of subjects offered on the internet menu: music ( Chris Brown?) poetry, philosophy, politics, porn-o-graphy, take your pick.
When did I say that The Telegraph or Heinemann Publishing for that matter or the various publishing companies which also put out free missionary copies of the Holy Bible, don’t have the right to publish any trash? Of course, in courting public opinion The Telegraph played a pivotal role in covering the Biafra War - less so in South Africa fighting for freedom ( ANC was classified as “a terrorist organisation”, and, not unlike her boyfriend Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher opposed sanctions on the Apartheid regime - unlike Joe Biden a big plus and much respect for him speaking up here
Let’s start with “criticism is as inevitable as breathing” and not with “the mote in your own eye”. Right now, if someone were to obliterate/ wipe out / deliver “the most unkindest cut of all” to one of Chidi Anthonio Opara’s poems, I know that's when he would not start yapping with great emotion, that the “Problem is that we do not even realize it when we start being intolerant of divergent viewpoints and when we start applying subtle gag methods.”
But I haven’t done that; I haven’t cut to pieces, any of Chidi’s most treasured or sacred possessions, his poetry - an essential part of him, and in this instance, Chidi’s “we” certainly doesn’t include me, because unlike him I read through the whole gamut of Israeli opinion, including Israel National News, The Jerusalem Post ( mostly faithful to Netanyahu & his Likud Party) Ted Belamn’s hardliner Israpundit ( who have as their policy headline/ motto/ mo-toto : “There is no diplomatic solution Israel should declare three nos; no to nuclear Iran, no to two-state solution, no to bi-national state”, The Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs ( where the likes of Dore Gold hold house) some very nice rabbis such as Avraham Greenbaum ( who actually attended the funeral of Madiba Nelson Mandela) - other nice rabbis such as the late Jonathan Sacks, his successor Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and for balance, a couple of educated hardliner Zionist rabbis worth listening to, such as David Bar-Hayim (unlike that semi-literate little racist piece of chicken-shit who “unfriended” me not so long ago) and then there’s the more popular and more charismatic ones such as Yosef Mizrachi and his former student Yaron Reuven
