Conference Information Update No. 6

Accommodation & Airport Logistics

Dear Participants,

As we countdown to TOFAC 2019, please note the following additional logistics information:

Types of Accommodation: There are three: Babcock Guest House, Babcock student hostels, and hotels in nearby towns. Full list of accommodation spaces and hotels has been sent since Conference Update No 1 but are re-posted below for those who might have missed that update.

Babcock Guest House (BGH): BGH is a fully serviced hotel with a restaurant, gym, swimming pool, room service, and 24 hour front desk. Kindly note that the BGH has plenty of room but because there are other conferences holding on our campus which will be partly overlapping with TOFAC, we strongly encourage you to book ahead if this is your preferred accommodation. Spaces will otherwise be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Hostel accommodation: Babcock University has international standard hostels designed to make our students feel at home away from home. The rooms are fully en suite, very clean, and the beds are made. There is no housekeeping service or room (food) service, however, and you should bring along your towel. Feel free to enjoy these facilities at the lowest prices ever: Only N1,000/bed. The hostel for males has four beds in a room, and that for females has two beds in a room. You can pay for the beds in a room if you do not wish to share: N2,000/room for females, and N4,000/room for males.

Hotels in nearby towns: While we encourage most participants to plan to stay on campus, we have provided a list of hotels not far from the University. We will gladly provide conference transportation from the hotels to campus only once in the morning, and then at the end of the day’s session at fixed times. Available public transportation would be taxis from nearby garages/bus-stops, taxi hires, or motorbikes. Hotel staff would be more than willing to help you with this.

Campus Health Policy: Kindly note that Babcock University is a smoke-free campus. Also, alcohol and stimulants are not served or sold anywhere on campus in line with the University’s holistic education and health policy. Similarly, the sale, distribution and use of illegal drugs are prohibited.

List of Hotels & Rates:  Please contact the Conference Logistics Director, Dr Victor Adesiyan (+234-806-091-6448; avi...@gmail.com) with your choice and questions.
