“We Undertook This Journey At Great Cost” ( Atiku)
Really so ridiculous.
On the road like Wole Soyinka' s Particulars Joe, flying off in a huff to the United States, the bastion of certificates, Human Rights and Democracy, trying to get an audience with Uncle Sam (Joe Biden) who predictably has no time for the likes of him because precisely just right now President Biden has more than he can deal with waiting for him on his plate and sure as hell has no time for wasting on anybody's certificate, even if the certificate was awarded in Maffia Chicago. This much is sure : Right now President Biden would have time to listen to Bibi Netanyahu but no time for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. And if Atiku Abubakar thinks that he is such a morally upright gentleman he could have flown over to His Holiness the Pope, shed a few tears at the Vatican and complained to His Holiness about being so unjustly treated, and whilst at it ,he could have relieved his troubled mind and eased his conscience by confessing to all the sour grapes and envy because he lost the election. Does he think that he lost because of President Tinubu's Certificate? I can assure Alhaji Atiku the defeated Oga (ogre) that Nigerians did not go to the polls to vote for his rival’s certificate.
Better still in his “quest for the enthronement of truth, morality and accountability in public affairs” he could have flown over to - not his billionaire’s apartment in Dubai but at the very least to The Sharif of Mecca to complain to him about the very bad treatment being meted out to our brothers and sisters among the oppressed Palestinian people in the refugee camps in the West Bank and in the open-air prison known as Gaza, and of course the refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan and Syria, refugee camps away from home, away from what was a once home, sweet home. Why?
“We Undertook This Journey At Great Cost”
We?
He means “he” , the big Oga, mighty kahuna, the loser, the failed wannabe from Nigeria ,undertook the quest in The United States, his main mission, to save his own skin.
He could have used that amount of money to take some of the Almajiri off the street, put them in some good schools so that they too can have a better chance in life, and they too can have a chance to graduate and be awarded genuine certificates like his arch-rival , now his arch-enemy , Nigeria’s democratically elected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
But, what else to expect ? These are some of the signs of the times

May the Almighty save us all from hypocrisy
If - and it’s a big if - if Nigeria was a truly law and order democracy in which the rule of law reigned supreme, then Nigerian people like Moses Ochonu and Franklin Kperogi wouldn’t be waging war on behalf of Alhaji Atiku of all people, as if unaware of the dossiers on him (Atiku), the unflattering charge sheets and the mountains of corruption allegations still being made against him, including what former President Obasanjo himself publicly declared about his former vice president on the topic of Atiku Abubakar and corruption when Atiku Abubakar served as Nigeria’s vice president under him, thereby giving the meaning of vice a double or added meaning when applied to vice-president Atiku Abubakar, an added inglorious meaning which prompted former president Obasanjo to declare
“God will never forgive me if I support Atiku for president”
And yet, the same Atiku who had been banned from entering US because of graft, had the audacity to fly to the US to lodge a petty, I’d say a silly complaint about the genuineness of President Tinubu’s degree parchment or a copy of it, even after the State University of Chicago had officially confirmed that Tinubu graduated with flying colours…
Sadly, gone are the good old days of tarring and feathering (mob justice) when the law and order fraternity having failed woefully to put the wanton criminals behind bars, the people could at least mete out street justice, the only drawback there being that such vicarious satisfaction falls short of the masses getting back all that has been looted by some of these political criminals and their spiritual wickedness being committed with impunity, all over the place.
In this regard some of the practising Christians take consolation in quoting Ephesians 6:12
If Nigeria was a truly law and order democracy in which the rule of law reigned supreme, then Nigerian people like Moses Ochonu wouldn’t be making spurious allegations about Nigeria’s First Citizen, such as “ Tinubu has brought unprecedented shame and embarrassment to Nigeria and the presidency” and more cacophony from Ochonu : ” a drug money launderer, certificate forger, and possible identity thief who has already been caught lying under oath about many aspects of his life, including his educational and work histories.”
Dear Moses Ochonu , if Nigeria were a truly law and order democracy in which the rule of law reigned supreme you would be facing some serious LIBEL and SLANDER charges
And, lastly , if Nigeria was a dictatorship, brave man, you would probably be saying your last prayers before being marched to the gallows or facing the execution squad for defaming the president with a "May the Lord have mercy on your soul" before your imminent departure to the Hereafter.
One more reason for thanking God and thank your lucky stars that you are living in America
Thanks Kadiri. You make interesting points about what may be called adequately contextualized as opposed to inadequately contextualized learning. Are the sciences still being taught in Nigeria or anywhere in Nigeria in that decontextualized manner? What relationship is there between teaching methods and challenges of industrialisation and use of technology in Nigeria, and Africa, in general?State resources in industrial development and management in Nigeria could be seen as problematic, but not so with the use of technology in the private sector, as demonstrated by the rise of Nigerian financial technology companies such as Flutterwave, and the global visibility of such a Nigerian tech entrepreneur as Iyonoluwa Aboyei, whose secondary school education was in Nigeria, the success of Innoson Motors, the increasing cinematographic sophistication of Nollywood among other examples.May the challenges in technologically centred services in the Nigerian public sector not emerge from challenges with the Nigerian state, rather than from the kind of technological education of the managers of these systems? The struggle against colonial education in Africa has produced great success in the humanities and creative sectors, as represented by Nigerian writers and visual artists;he development of indigenous creativity is evident in Nollywood, one of the largest film industries in the world, all these being expressions of private sector initiatives. In the light of these considerations, is it realistic to describe Nigeria's problematic electricity sector and her industrial challenges in terms of poor training in science and technology?ThanksToyin
