Dear Augustine Togonu-Bickersteth,
At the risk of taking unnecessary flak for not writing my own letter , my own poem, not singing my own song etc, let me dare proffer many thanks for your long overdue letter to dear President Biden, giving him so many points to ponder including the future of President Zelensky and Ukraine.
We could exhort President Biden the Catholic to at least listen to what Pope Francis has to say about Ukraine
It’s remarkable that you want to fault democracy// mob rule // the American intelligentsia which encompasses Kenneth Harrow and some of the worthy/ not so worthy, full-American (like “full-Professor”) and half-American / dual citizens among us, although it’s not clear whether what you really have in mind is the American Intelligence services which like Tony Blair's ’s British Intelligence could also plead guilty to e.g. sexing up the report on Saddam Hussein's alleged stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, none of which have been found to date, despite Colin Powell pointing out Saddam’s launching sites with his walking stick, on the overhead, at the United Nations.
I don’t think that Uncle Sam will be seeking the UN’s permission to invade Russia, the way they invaded Iraq, because, in the first place, Uncle Sam would be too scared to invade Russia since they know full well that would be the end of capitalism as practised by the United States of America, because they also know that Russia has some horrible weapons of mass destruction that would bring down all of Wall Street, without having to pass any sanctions on Uncle Sam. They (Bush & B-liar) invaded Iraq - with impunity and without permission from the UN - because they knew that Saddam didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction. They invaded so that they could get some more free oil - ditto with Libya — some more free oil - and gold.,...
On the other hand, for all the bluster they - and Netanyahu too knows that they cannot and will not “ invade” Iran because they know that Iran - and maybe Iran & Allies could then dump everything they have got to dump, mass and not mass, on "little satan", iron dome or no iron dome, end of story, no more glory.
I haven’t visited MEMRI for a while to know exactly what’s going on in that neighbourhood, but I do know that on the whole the Israeli media is not very happy about the rapprochement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I surmise that they are probably praying and secretly planning the most efficient and effective means by which to sabotage that rapprochement and that God forbid - divide and rule, Sudan could be the kind of epicentre on which the various streams of political Islam and Islamists take sides. I suppose they also hope and pray that more mayhem will erupt in unfriendly Muslim countries that would otherwise be ganging up against Zionism.
About Israel as the centre of gravity, ISRAPUNDIT has been telling us for years now, “There is no diplomatic solution”, which short of “ The Jordan Option” only leaves war as the alternative. That’s how it is in the world of realpolitik : Territory that has been lost through war and occupation will only be successfully regained or reclaimed by WAR
These are serious issues on the plate of any American president...
Yesterday, the Russian Jehovah’s witness wanted to know if I believed in GOD and the Holy Word Of God, the Scriptures. I said yes.
BTW, I believe that Zelensky will be gone before the next US Presidential elections. Time will tell.
I asked a Sudanese Bro for his opinion on this article, and whether or not he thought that it was sheer propaganda. He replied : “I don’t believe it’s propaganda, I think it’s a fact, this is about power rather than ideology. Until the day we eliminate corruption in Africa, and power-hungry, greedy generals, we can never move forward.”
I followed up by asking him his opinion about the Counterpunch article and his reply was, “There is always more to the story behind the scenes, and who suffers the most is everyday people, what a sad story”
Out of dire necessity your next epistle to dear President Biden has to be about the bloody war that has just started in SUDAN and that beyond airlifting US embassy people out of Khartoum it is expected of him that as a caring US President he should continue to act as global sheriff and leader of the free world ( so-called) by doing his level best to help stop the war and carnage, and to not fall into the same pit as his predecessor Bill Clinton during whose presidency over the most powerful nation on earth, approximately four years before the Lewinsky scandal, was to be found napping, sitting on his hands in the oval office as the Rwanda Genocide raged on for over 100 days without him doing anything about it.
Ominous. Fast forward to the fulfilment of this awful prophetic hadith: “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.." It would seem ( to me) that such a genocide would only be possible if the United States is no longer the only super power in town/ superpower numero uno, or is still a superpower but has a sitting president, maybe a lame duck octogenarian president who is either unwilling or unable to lift a finger whilst such a genocide goes on , perhaps for less than 100 days.
Dear Augustine Togonu-Bickersteth, out of sheer consideration for President Biden’s age - your respect for elders, respect for old age, respect for white hairs - like the hoary Wole Soyinka’s To My First White Hairs ( white hairs, not white heirs) and the respect due the wisdom that we are to assume usually goes with it ( goes with the white hairs) such as those on President Joe Biden’s balding head, at least you could have started the letter by congratulating him on announcing his bid for re-election next year, when he will be 81 years old, and the oldest dude to have run for the presidency, in the history of the United States of America. And that’s why I feel uncomfortable about your introducing the term “ the geriatric psychologist” as a possible snide reference to Mr. President.
So what about appealing to President Biden’s ego to go for the Nobel Peace Prize.?
Generally speaking, at this point, the one thing that I think President Biden has going for him is that with America presently at war - a proxy war in Ukraine, it’s unlikely that they ( the Americans) would want to change horses in midstream, so there’s a good chance that they’ll keep old Joe Biden in the saddle, except of course if the US-supported War efforts in Ukraine would have been going badly with Russia, steadfastly waging a war of attrition then Donald Trump who says that he would end the war within twenty fours hours, would be a viable option.
