Do we understand that by Lawal Ishaq’s estimation or reasoning, the woman mercilessly stoned to death subjected herself willingly to the ordeal? Or she submitted to the Laws of Allah by Committing adultery so that she would die in the process and go straight to heaven? If Lawal seriously meant any of the above interpretations of his statement, he is not only unfit to live amongst civilized human beings of the modern world, he should be seriously investigated as either a recruiter of candidate suicide bombers who are promised 72 virgins in heaven, or he is a candidate suicide bomber. Let’s watch this guy and his insane thought processes under the guise of following the Laws of Allah! Lawal’s writings under the misguided notion of following Islamic Laws of Allah fit the profile of those scrupulous Religious fanatics who have been causing the killings of other human beings in Kano (Maitatsine), Bornu/Bauchi (Boko Haram), and Jos (whoever the crazy Sharists are). They MUST be identified and TAMED to conform to modern human worldview of tolerance and respect for differences. Take care. Who was the other party to this act of adultery?
Where is Islamic justice for this party?
Where is the evidence that Aisha, this poor Somali woman’s confession was not coerced?
Where is the evidence that she willingly submitted to the laws of Allah?
Why is it that it is usually men that sit in judgment over women in cases of adultery and other charges?
What is the probability in a strict Muslim society, that a woman will start a process with a man that may lead to the act of adultery given that the woman is well aware of the draconian consequences for her, if she is found out?
Is it not more probable that a man would start the process given that he knows that the odds of punishment are in his favor?
Should a just legal system not hold such a man more accountable than the woman?
If as Lawal Ishaq argues, Aisha is in heaven for committing adultery and being stoned to death in submission to the will of Allah, should Lawal Ishaq not do same and be similarly stoned to death so that he too will go to heaven which according to Islam, is a place or eternal bliss?
It is instructive that usually poor and widowed women that commit adultery and are stoned to death in Sharia governed Muslim societies.
There is hope nevertheless for these societies. There was a time that death by stoning, was the punishment for adultery in Judaism. We all know what has happened since. The Reformation helped to bring Christianity into the modern era. Islam needs a reformation too. Muslim countries will see the light.

The fact is that it seems most contemporary practitioners of Christianity are opened to modernity and new worldview as revealed by human adventure, experience, scientific discoveries, bio-social evolution and commonsense. However, the religion that still advocates 72 virgin reward for killing other human beings who don’t share its creeds, stone offenders publicly and chop off hands, legs and fingers for misdemeanors must be seen to be archaic and out of sync with modern human sense of justice. Can anyone of you, calling islam barbaric religion show me a single verse in the Qur'an where almighty Allah, ordered the stoning of adulterer? It is as simple as that.
I think that woman confessed to the commission of adultery. She was sentenced to death on account of her confession. She reserved the right to retract that confession even at the stage of her execution, and such execution must be called off. She did not.

A woman in Kisamayo was stoned to death after committing adultery. More than 50 Somali men threw stones to the face of Aisho Ibrahim Dhuhulow who was found guilty of extramarital intercourse by the Sharia law.
The woman was buried in the group, up her neck while she was bombarded with rocks in a public execution.
“Our sister Aisha asked the Islamic Sharia court in Kismayo to be charged and punished for the crime she committed,” local Islamist leader Sheikh Hayakallah told the crowd (via newspaper).
“She admitted in front of the court to engaging in adulterous sexual intercourse,” the source added.
Last August, the port of Kismayo was seized by a coalition of forces loyal to rebel leader Hassan Turki and the Shebab, the nation’s primary radical Islamist insurgent organization (much like RP’s AbuSayyaf).

The family is a unit of society and morality is therefore a serious
matter. Once a society becomes degenerate/ decadent it’s been known to
crumble.
Some societies take sexual morality more seriously than others. The
punishments for sexual transgression as defined by the various
religions, varies from religion to religion and some people speak from
their religious perspectives, some more than three thousand years old,
some as old as Christianity (in which by merely looking at a woman,
you may have committed adultery/ fornication) and in Islam which came
less than 1,500 years ago and claims to be the last / final Divine
Legislation communicated by the Almighty to mankind, the punishment as
defined by that religion and the hell-fire that awaits those who are
not forgiven, will forever remain a reality. Calling it barbaric only
makes matter worse, from the strictly Islamic point of view.
Some take the punishments more light-heartedly than others as
narrated here:
“The Confessional.
A priest was called away for an emergency. Not wanting to leave the
confessional unattended, he called his rabbi friend from across the
street and asked him to cover for him. The rabbi told him he wouldn't
know what to say, but the priest told him to come on over and he'd
stay with him for a little bit and show him what to do.
The rabbi comes and he and the priest are in the confessional. In a
few minutes a woman comes in and says "Father forgive me for I have
sinned. I committed adultery."
Priest says: "How many times?"
Woman: "Three times."
Priest says, "Say two Hail Marys, put $5.00 in the box, and sin no
more."
A few minutes later a man enters the confessional. He says, "Father
forgive me for I have sinned."
Priest says, "What did you do?"
Man says, "I committed adultery."
Priest asks, "How many times?"
Man replies, "Three times."
Priest says, "Say two Hail Marys, put $5.00 in the box, and sin no
more."
The Rabbi tells the priest that he thinks he's got it so the priest
leaves. A few minutes later another woman enters and says,
"Father forgive me for I have sinned."
Rabbi says, "What did you do?"
Woman replies, "I committed adultery."
Rabbi asks, "How many times?"
Woman says "Once."
Rabbi says, "Go do it two more times, we have a special this week,
it’s three for $5.00."
Nota Bene: it's not a joking matter.

Sahih Muslim, Book 17, Chapter 6: Stoning to Death of Jews and Other Dhimmis In Cases of Adultery, Number 4216: Jabir b.'Abdullah reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) stoned (to death) a person from Banu Aslam, and a Jew and his wife.[14]
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23: Funerals, Number 413: Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The Jew brought to the Prophet a man and a woman from amongst them who have committed (adultery) illegal sexual intercourse. He ordered both of them to be stoned (to death), near the place of offering the funeral prayers beside the mosque." [15]
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 50: Conditions, Number 885: Narrated Abu Huraira and Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani: A bedouin came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's apostle! I ask you by Allah to judge My case according to Allah's Laws." His opponent, who was more learned than he, said, "Yes, judge between us according to Allah's Laws, and allow me to speak." Allah's Apostle said, "Speak." He (i .e. the bedouin or the other man) said, "My son was working as a laborer for this (man) and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife. The people told me that it was obligatory that my son should be stoned to death, so in lieu of that I ransomed my son by paying one hundred sheep and a slave girl. Then I asked the religious scholars about it, and they informed me that my son must be lashed one hundred lashes, and be exiled for one year, and the wife of this (man) must be stoned to death." Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, I will judge between you according to Allah's Laws. The slave-girl and the sheep are to be returned to you, your son is to receive a hundred lashes and be exiled for one year. You, Unais, go to the wife of this (man) and if she confesses her guilt, stone her to death." Unais went to that woman next morning and she confessed. Allah's Apostle ordered that she be stoned to death.[16]
if i knew hadith better i would look for views that counter this. there are rabbinical rulings that ultimately counter the biblical injunctions to stone to death, not only the adulterous woman but the disobedient child.

the opening of the above site indicates that it is only in hadith that stoning is mentioned, not in the qur'an. the opening verse indicates that the commandment to stone to death was lost when a goat ate the piece of paper on which it was noted. that is the kind of indication that reformers would take to end the practice.
surely there are scholars on this list who have knowledge of religious opposition to the practice?
