I am a performer, dramaturge and pedagogue. I create solo performances. You can find details of my productions elsewhere on this site. I also perform in the productions of other artists. Most recently, I performed with Zoi Dimitriou’s contemporary company in Athens and London (2023–2024). I am presently working on a range of solo performances.
My dance and performance workshop are based on my pedagogic practice which I call Sere Kinaesthetic. Sere is the Yoruba word for 'play'. It draws on my research into contemporary choreography and my performance experience in African dance theatre and Physical theatre.
Pedagogy
I also design and deliver courses on topics related to my work - African performance, Contemporary dance, Dance as a profession, Creative Health, Transnationalism in dance, Post-independence African arts, the Performance Arts Business. I have taught for arts organisations, festivals and conservatoires internationally such as The Place, PARTS, E15, Ecole Des Sables, Dance Immersion, YENSA Festival, Siobhan Davies Studios, CNDB, Romania amongst others. I also teach my own courses under the banner of AfroAcadaPro - targeting professional artists and postgraduate students.
Dramaturgy
Since 2013, I have worked as a dramaturg with writers, theatre-makers, and choreographers—particularly those combining genres or engaging with social dance forms. My focus is on supporting the artist’s voice and inquiry, helping them establish a clear through-line within the hybridity of their work. I have collaborated with artists across the UK and internationally and led dramaturgical programmes and labs for organisations including Kauma Arts (London), Pan-African Creative Exchange (PACE, South Africa and online), and Dance Immersion (Toronto).
