Bombs,
Rockets
Rouse me from silence,
Gaza blazes again.

I see sacrilege
In the shrines of the good gods,

I hear loud laughter
And clicks of wine glasses
From the mansions
Of merchants of war weapons.

I stand gazing at Gaza.
The smokes rise
And shield my gaze
From the slaughter.

From the risen smokes
I hear the cries
Of the wounded
And the bereaved,
The dead are dumb.

I am drenched
By the tears
Of the weeping world.

Moving.

I wonder, though, if "smoke" should be pluralised.

Oluwatoyin,
I enjoy the privilege of "poetic license", unlike you (laughter).
