she had a greater impact on feminism, in its contemporary mode, than anyone when she published that piece demonstrating how the lives of black women were left out of the mainstream thinking.

amazing to see how powerful a voice can be.

she wrote much, grounded in her perspective, that all our students read and discussed. she changed a field, was groundbreaking. and so young!
