Thank you for sharing this article about the death of Simon Mann. From my francophone point, I only knew about Bob Denard with his mercenary activities in Benin, Comores Islands, etc. I was not aware that there was similar character in Southern Africa.

Nowadays, mercenaries are being replaced by the digital and with the complicities of our governments....

If only Africans know how much money their governments are paying to "digital mercenaries" or digital/cyber-combatants  from Russia, Ukraine and other former East Bloc countries, China, Turkey, etc., to dominate cyberspace and the digital sphere on their behalf. Many of these digital combatants actually live among ordinary folk in our cities and neighborhoods.  It's not just elections anymore; this war is being fought in every nook and cranny of our lives.
