Wildfires raging in the Holy Land.
I first heard about the disaster from Middle East Eye , and in the video clip reporting “Fires in Israel reach army bases near Jerusalem” you can hear some Palestinian voices piously chirping “Allahu Akbar !” - perhaps in praise of Allah’s divine wrath about what Netanyahu & Crew have been doing and are still doing to the innocent, long-suffering Palestinian people of Gaza and the West Bank, the visitation of fire is in the same spirit in which Rabbi Ovadia Yosef opined about the natural disaster recorded as Hurricane Katrina .
The pious Palestinian reaction - Allahu Akbar should be enough to give you pause for reflection about El Hajj Malik Shabazz’s memorable definitions illustrating the difference between the House Negro and the Field Negro :
“But then you had another Negro out in the field. The house Negro was in the minority. The masses--the field Negroes were the masses. They were in the majority. When the master got sick, they prayed that he'd die. [Laughter] If his house caught on fire, they'd pray for a wind to come along and fan the breeze.”
According to some news sources Hamas’ reaction to the fires in Israel is a typical Field Negro reaction, not only praying for some strong winds to fan the breeze, but actually aiding and abetting the spread of the fires….
Don’t get me wrong - B'ezrat Hashem I intend to plant some more trees in the Holy Land, to replenish what has been lost and to make her more environmentally friendly .
When my mother passed away in 1998 in London, through Keren Kayemet, I planted a few trees in the Yatir forest in the Negev desert in her loving memory

Israeli Firefighters Gain Control Over Blaze Near Jerusalem

Oluwatoyin Vincent Adepoju,
Tikkun Olam Yes!
But in the world in which we live , as you have just noticed “ thou shalt not kill” means nothing to some of those hoping to be resurrected :
Activists say ship aiming to sail to Gaza was attacked by drones
With all the deaths - the willful slaughter and destruction going on, there’s very little for real civilised beings, clowns or even idiots to disagree about or want to go to a genocidal war for, as if the survival of the planet depends on it.
In that marathon speech delivered by Dmitry Medvedev, I wish that he had told NATO and the rest of the world, more clearly, that it was the Red Army - the Soviet Army that finally liberated the inmates at Auschwitz …
Terrible reality - that Rwandan genocide, if I remember correctly, I read the bad news in a Lyndon Larouche paper, that the machetes arrived from France, it was said, to cut down trees, and the Tutsi were identified as the target trees, to be cut down…Talking about machetes here’s some more historic savagery ( perpetrated by les sauvages)
Apart from the regular bushfires in Australia and California - the recent forest fires in the Congo and the Amazon , sadly, isn't the very deliberate deforestation that is occurring worldwide an insult to our collective intelligence?
Given your relationship to trees and your ecological concerns , what you, and the late Kenyan environmentalist Wangari Maathai the Green Party people the world over have have in common is Tikkun Olam and we both agree not just passively, we’ve gotta heal the planet that the Almighty entrusted to our care
It’s an imperative. We’ve got to plant trees.
I asked Pa Google : Who has the world record for planting trees?
In Devarim 12:3 this Divine command is given “to destroy their sacred trees…”
There’s the hadith that the last day will not come and go without a major final battle between the Jews and the Muslims - and the modern Islamic belief is that’s why the Israelis are busy planting trees, particularly their own sacred tree, an alleged tree of protection identified in the Arabic tongue as “Gharqad“, because according to certain hadiths (ahadith), it is behind that particular tree that the Jews will be hiding during that final battle.
( In the old days I used to joke with two of my friends, Demba ( Gambian) and Umar
( African- American) the same question : On that fateful day (the final battle) if you saw the likes of me hiding behind such a tree, would you spare me?
Whereas dear Demba said he would pretend that he hadn’t seen me, or he would tell me to run (to where?) Umar, blood-thirsty & without any milk of compassion for his brother said that like his namesake Umar Ibn Khattab he would not hesitate, he would raise his sword and before dispatching me to the Jahannam to burn forever he would remind me that he had been warning me. I told him that at such a time he should cut out the rhetoric and that he should expect some resistance…
