Role: Snowflake Data Engineer
Terms: 12 month CTH
Hourly Pay Rate: $65 hr.  c2c Max

USC OR GC OR H4 EAD
Start Date: ASAP
Work schedule details: Hybrid in Austin


Position Overview:
The Snowflake Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain data solutions using the Snowflake Data Cloud. They will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance data pipelines, optimizing data storage, and ensuring efficient data processing for analytics and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Snowflake Architecture & Development
    • Design & implement Snowflake data warehouses, databases, and schemas
    • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines to injest, transform & load data into Snowflake
    • Optimize virtual warehouses, storage & query performance
  • Data Integration & Pipeline Management
    • Integrate data from various sources (APIs, databases, cloud storage, etc.) into Snowflake.
    • Use tools like Snow pipe, Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Stored Procedures for automation.
    • Work with Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or Five Tran for real-time/batch data processing.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization
    • Monitor and optimize query performance (clustering, partitioning, materialized views).
    • Implement data sharing, zero-copy cloning, and time travel features.
    • Manage resource utilization (warehouse sizing, auto-suspend, scaling).
  • Security & Governance
    • Configure RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and data security policies.
    • Ensure data masking, encryption, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA).
    • Implement data lineage and metadata management.
  • Collaboration & Analytics Enablement
    • Work with data analysts, scientists, and BI teams to provide clean, structured data.
    • Support Snowflake integrations with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
    • Document data models, pipelines, and best practices.

Top Skills:

  • 5+ years' experience in data engineering with 3+ years in Snowflake (architecture, SQL, stored procedures, UDFs)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data transformations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data lakes (S3, ADLS).
  • Knowledge of data modeling (star schema, snowflake
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for data pipelines.

Preferred Certifications:

  • SnowPro Core Certification
  • SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer Certification
    • AWS/Azure/GCP Data Engineering Certifications
