Senior Oracle DBA
Provide support for Oracle databases across the USA for all applications on
HP-UX, AIX & NT Servers responsibilities: Provide technical
datagase assistance to application development and maintenance staffs
Aid application staffs in the design of efficient databases and SQL
statements Create the physical database model from the logical design
including data integrity controls, determine sizing requirements, and
related tool installs and upgrades. Adapt the databases of purchased
applications to company standards Physical database instantiation, refresh,
reorganization, . Performance tuning, capacity planning, and doing DASD
layout with the System Administrators Assist in the development and
enhancement of database standards and techniques Establish and maintain
procedures to assure database integrity: backup & recovery procedures,
referential integrity, . Investigate and resolve database problems that are
both technical and performance in nature Installation and maintenance of
database and support tool software Assist in technical evaluation of
software products to assist in application database support. Work as a
member of a technical DBA team Participation in on call 24x7 support
rotation Requirements: Education: a BS degree in computer science or
information systems (an AS degree and/or equivalent experience will be
considered) Professional Experience: minimum 3-5 years experience as a
technical DBA in Oracle databases more than 5 years professional IT
experience working knowledge of UNIX (HP-UX and/or AIX) and NT Server
knowledgeable in UNIX korn shell and SQL scripting experience with
database tuning experience in applications development, system
administration, or other technical IT specialization experienced with at
least medium scale transactional databases (50-100GB) and/or data
warehouse instances (>=150GB) knowledge of triggers, stored procedures,
and packages Additional Skills: the following skills are not required but
considered a plus: Designer 2000, BMC tool suite, ERP, data warehousing,
E-business or UNIX System administration Strong interpersonal and
teamwork skills US citizens or permanent residents only. No H-1 transfers
available.
Location: Greenville, SC
Salary: $70000 to $80000, depending on experience.
