Description: Commercial Banker/Relationship Manager Position Number: 44073012 Bethesda, MD posted 07/24/08 Requirements JOB PURPOSE:Our Commercial Banker functions as a Relationship Manager and new business generator and is the primary contact for business accounts administered by the Commercial Banking Division. The incumbent is responsible for providing a full range of banking services within a territory and or/industry specialty Team, with emphasis on client contact, sales, service, credit quality and underwriting. The incumbent operates with a degree of authority and specialization, depending on functional level, as deemed appropriate by management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage and administer portfolio of existing accounts as assigned; conduct timely reviews and renewals, negotiate loan documents, and manage doc prep and loan closing process.
* Retain, solidify and expand existing relationships.
* Meet with customers and prospects to discuss banking needs and cross sell banking services.
* Manage underwriting process.
* Participate in the credit approval process by presenting loans for approval to the required level of authority and/or Loan Committee.
* Develop and implement new business calling program; identify, research and qualify new business prospects, and assume active role in community initiatives.
* Achieve assigned new business goals to include loans, fees and deposits.
* Monitor credit quality of assigned loan portfolio, assess risk and safeguard the Banks exposure; track for covenant compliance and timely receipt of financial information.
* Maintain working knowledge of the Banks commercial products and services.
* Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Bank Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum of three years experience working as an analyst and/or underwriter in a commercial banking or similar financial institution, to include completion of a formal credit training program.
* Strong underwriting and sales skills.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* PC proficiency and familiarity with Bank software.
* Works well in a Team atmosphere.
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task and meet deadlines.
* Undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, accounting, or banking.
