Description: Head of Project Management Office


This individual will design, staff, and run the company’s newly created technology Project Management Office. The Head of the PMO is responsible defining and implementing excellent technology project management standards, procedures, and processes. The candidate will oversee a project management team tasked with ensuring that all of the high-level technology projects in our embedded technology groups are well run and achieving the goal of developing robust applications that make our investment strategies a reality.



Position Responsibilities:



Designing the team structure, roles, and responsibilities of team members and staff accordingly



Defining and implementing processes and standards for firm-wide technology project management



Creating, organizing, and delivering technology project management training



Running the Project Management Office, ensuring that all high-level technology projects across the firm are run excellently and held to high standards



Position Requirements:



Significant experience creating a PMO from scratch



Five plus years experience running a PMO



Proven experience gathering and synthesizing information from various groups and formulating appropriate processes and procedures to ensure project management excellence



Relevant technology project management experience (SDLC and technology vendor selection a big plus)



Highly intelligent, driven individual with an unusual amount of common sense



Exceptional leadership aptitude, an open and engaging personality, and a quick mind



Excellent communication and problem solving skills



Comfortable giving and receiving criticism, managing initiatives, and taking charge



Focused, has strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail



Technical knowledge in the financial application space is certainly a plus,



A college degree is required, and demonstrated success at one of the nation’s top universities is a plus.
