Senior Director, Product Marketing. Responsible for product marketing, product
management, and Business Development for an $80 Million manufacturer of local
area networking hardware and software. Introduced new Ethernet and Fast
Ethernet switching products, Web-based network management software, hubs and
adapters. New products won several industry awards for innovation in
technology and product packaging. Product design, marketing communications,
channel sales and marketing, and field support.

1994-8/96: UB Networks, Inc. , Andover MA (formerly Ungermann-Bass)
Director, Business Development. Business development and product marketing and
management. Initiated technology transfer, joint development, OEM capabilities,
and business collaboration. Products included ATM (switches, adapters),
workgroup technology (fast Ethernet, stackable hubs, adapters and
internetworking) , modular hubs, and remote access. Managed partnerships with
such leading vendors as Cisco, Bay Networks, Compaq, IBM, SMC and Interphase.
Drove new marketing campaigns with public relations and marcomm, and created new
distribution and bundling promotions to increase sales and enter new channels.

1993-1994: Tomlinson & Company, Stow MA -- Founder/CEO.
Management Consulting for the technology industry and venture capital community
: technology assessment and strategic business development, establishing sales
and marketing programs and new product launches, assisted in financing and
merger/acquisition activity.

1992-1993: Proteon, Inc. , Westborough, MA
Director of LAN Marketing. Managed a $70M product line comprised of LAN
hardware and software addressing the token ring markets:
· P&L responsibility for a product line accounting for 50% of corporate revenue;
achieved revenue growth via OEM and SI's domestically, while increasing
Distributor sales internationally.
· Strategic relations interface to software partners, including IBM, Banyan,
Novell, and Microsoft.
· Product management of adapters, hubs, routers, wireless, laptop connectivity,
and high speed links, product definition and business planning , pricing,
product planning, public relations, collateral design, promotions, channel
introduction.
· Launched OEM Sales Group.

1991 - 1992: BICC Communications, Auburn MA.
Director of Sales and Marketing, Wireless Networking Systems. Responsible for
worldwide launch and product management of token ring and ethernet wireless
products.
Managed product management, marketing, marketing communications, public
relations, and sales programs. Instituted channel plans for VARs and
Distributors, and OEM program for business partners. Managed strategic business
development, including the ultimate divestiture of the business unit by the
Parent to outside investors. Other lines were sold to 3COM.

1989-1991:Novell, Inc., Burlington MA
Account Executive. Account duties for northeastern Distribution, National
Reseller, and Systems Integrators. Managed the IBM account for Northeast.
Originally hired as Territory Manager for Excelan/Kinetics Inc. , a provider of
Ethernet and TCP/IP hardware and software. Excelan was acquired by Novell in
1989.
