As the Facilitator of Technology Development and Oversight in the Department of
Foreign Languages I have implemented a number of useful programs for both
students and faculty, that have promoted professional development for
colleagues and have brought new technological applications directly into the
classroom.
Some of My Past Accomplishments in Educational Technology
1)Trained faculty in the use of Windows 3.x, Eudora E-mail, Netscape 3.0, and
other software.
2)Provided support for faculty with general and specific technological
dilemmas.
3)Helped Foreign Language faculty to construct professional development plans,
for learning about technology, and integrating its use into their curricula.
4)Served on a committee to design and implement a set of technological
competency expectations for all faculty.
5)Served on the headmaster’s Committee on Technology Oversight and
Implementation; outlined goals and implementation plan with regard to
technology development and purchasing for the next three years..
6)Coordinated an E-mail penpals program for foreign language students.
7)Constructed, developed, and managed a web site for the Department of Foreign
Languages, including pages dedicated to individual languages and international
programs.
8)Developed an internet-based “virtual language lab,” through which teachers
can digitize audio and video files for curricular and extra-curricular use by
both faculty and students.
