ACHIEVEMENTS:

- Initated, designed and implemented first generalized financial
modeling tool for proposed insurance products. Worked with
Controller, Acturarial, Underwriting and Product Development
groups to gain concensus about model validity.

- Rescued an EDI initative that was failing due to poor software
selection and financial planning. Severed relationship with
initial software vendor, lead a national search for a new
software vendor, established relationship with new vendor,
constructed financial pro-forma for new operation and established
operating policies and procedures.

- Provided the organizational leadership to move a PC phobic
organization from a few stand alone XT's to over 400 networked
386's and 486's; proposed and directed implementation of an open
system, multi-protocol Wide Area Network (WAN); proposed and
directed installation of thirteen departmental LAN's; and
proposed and directed a trial of EDA/SQL.

- Persuaded pro-IBM management to convert from IBM CPU's to Amdahl
by negotiating a lease reducing CPU costs by 63% while increasing
MIPS by 50%. Proposed and directed implementation of system
software products such as a logical session manager, a CICS
screen optimizer, and directed installation and upgrades of
MVS/XA, ACF2, and DFHSM.

- Orchestrated the startup of a Corporate Data Modeling function,
wrote departmental mission statement, developed departmental
policies, and hired, trained and directed the startup staff.

- Brought EDP expertise to a corporate Internal Audit function.
Conducted all EDP audits including an audit of the IBM Operating
System environment. Also conducted financial audits.

- Directed numerous mainframe application design and development
efforts utilizing PL/1, COBOL, DB2, IMS and other tools. All
efforts adhered to structured methodology.
