OBJECTIVE
To provide technology consulting in the area of electrical design
management, focusing on redesign, design modification and design
implementation efforts for high-technology based businesses. I am
seeking an opportunity to apply my creativity and experience in
evolving and focusing technology changes at a company undergoing
significant growth and expansion.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Designed multi-function control interface unit for Accu-Fab's robots.
My interface, still in use today, allows the company to interface with
the robots they build more efficiently. At the time I designed this
interface, there was no available commercial off-the-shelf product with
the required functionality.
Designed and developed the "Documentation Enhancement Process" at
OnTrak. My process reduced costs in both product engineering and
product support by reducing the amount of interaction between customers
and field support organizations. My process combines research and
effective documentation to create easy-to-use documentation in the form
of schematics and inter-connect diagrams.
Reduced manufacturing and distribution costs at Accu-Fab and Ontrak by
training in-house non-engineering personnel to design and modify
printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Experience

EXPERIENCE
OnTrak Systems, Inc.
Electrical Engineering Manager, February, 1996 to May, 1997
Managed a team of quality assurance specialists who resolved electrical
engineering quality issues for the post-CMP product line.
Responsible for facilitating communications between manufacturing and
product engineering. My efforts allowed design changes and productivity
recommendations to move quickly and easily between manufacturing and
engineering, thereby reducing manufacturing time and improving time to
market.
Initiated, compiled and maintained a company-wide technical library for
all technical and non-technical information from vendors. My design and
implementation efforts ensured that engineers and technicians had a
single source for all information on component items.
Responsible for resolving major electrical component issues from
customers, sales, field service, manufacturing, and marketing.
Member of the company's Failure Review Board where my efforts ensured
that electrical issues presented to the Board were resolved quickly and
did not recur.

Accu-Fab Systems California, Inc.
Electrical Design Engineer, December, 1993 to December, 1995
Project Manager for new electrical designs, with particular focus on
interface devices for ubiquitous connections to commercial off the
shelf motion device add-ons.
Prevented component part availability shortfalls for company products.
My ability to design parts out of existing circuitry allowed the
company to meet its deadlines, enhance its market presence, and
increase customer satisfaction.
I designed and built specific high-value components used in the
company's product lines. Of significant interest and value were:
· Redesigned front panel controller interface, adding additional
functionality while using existing space.
· Designed a personality module that reduced component cost by
significantly reducing cable count from the controller to specific
motion devices.
· Designed component packaging for robotic interface unit with specific
focus on upgradeability, component interchangeability, power management
and operator ease of use.

AccSys Technology, Inc.
Senior Electronic Technician, February, 1988 to December, 1993
Evaluated electrical designs and resolved design problems, including
digital and analog troubleshooting.
Designed chassis layouts for various sub-assemblies with emphasis on
optimum performance using minimally-sized enclosures.
Developed and enhanced mechanical design skills by integrating
electronics for two high-vacuum systems.
Performed wire wrapping and component assembly, and developed my
electronic technician skills while completing my degree in Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science.

Summary: Microelectronics Designer/Scientist with dozens of patents, 63
IBM technical disclosure bulletins, numerous awards and papers.1 Proven
track record of rapidly grasping complex technical issues, assessing
emerging markets while eliminating non-productive ones. Underling all
of this is another skill - follow through and communication. This
communication skill is not only internal within the company but also
external publications.

Selected Accomplishments while at INTERAXX inc. (a set top box
company):
* After only 2 months established a patent review committee which
includes all functional areas at INTERAXX. In addition changed the
patent firm from the existing one (numerous problems) to the well
respected Morgan, Lewis and Bockius from D.C. After 4 months was named
to Chief Scientist reporting directly to the chief technical officer.

Selected Accomplishments during 18 months as Director of Strategic
Technologies at The Panda Project inc. (technology company):
* Established the VSPA(tm) module and Compass connector technologies.
This included applying for several patents and writing numerous
external papers.
* Traveled extensively in the States and also to Korea and Europe for
application development.

Selected Accomplishments during employment at IBM Boca Raton:
* Worked on PCMCIA solutions and applications developments while at the
IBM PC division. Of particular note is work with several camera
companies towards developing a Digital Camera.
* Initialized work on what was announced as Simon. (Wireless connected
PDA)
* After Hurricane Andrew was part of a team that innovated a computer
platform based on the IBM Tablet, a camera, and a GPS receiver. About
twenty of these platforms were donated to Metro Dade County.
* Prudent risk taking was demonstrated by choosing a no name company
(SunDisk now SanDisk) over INTeL for the ThinkPad tablet's flash solid
state file. (First in the industry using the IDE-ATA interface)
* In 1990, for the PS/2 Model 90 & 95 a very high frequency clocking IC
and clocking distribution was designed for multi chip modules. This
included innovation of a new type of module called Solder Ball Connect,
known in the industry as BGA. (Ball Grid Array)
* Designed the PS/2 Model 50-Z Clocking system. This used a Frequency
Synthesis sub-system, which resulted in a 3 Million dollar cost
savings.
* Advanced cooling techniques were developed. This included conduction
cooling for the ThinkPad Tablet, and development of Thermal Electric
coolers, for cooling below the ambient.

Selected Accomplishments during employment at IBM East Fishkill.
* While in East Fishkill was appointed part of a team that worked for
IBM's first Senior Technical Staff Member. In this area interaction
with IBM Research division resulted in clock extraction for a 200
MB/sec fiber optic link (1975), self healing memories which are used in
high end processors, a logic clocking technique called delay
regulation, and numerous analog, memory, and logic circuit techniques.
* Started in East Fishkill's test equipment area where certain "self"
test techniques were developed. Experience was also gained by working
in a quality assurance area. This was helpful in developing a "quality"
attitude before it became a "3 sigma" buzz word.
