More information about this job: Overview: Overview This company is the nation's leading firm in critical infrastructure design (data centers, telecommunications facilities, disaster recovery sites). Major A/E firm with a multi year Government Project that will conduct studies, designs, and construction efforts, as well as to provide independent studies and analyses. Scope of Work will include oversight of design and commissioning requirements. Responsibilities: Required minimum personal knowledge: • Familiarity with renovation and new work projects • Familiarity and application of appropriate codes, standards and industry best practices • Construction methodology • Design and construction cost estimating methods • Construction document package preparation • Construction inspection Specific Electrical knowledge, some or all of the following: • Electrical coordination studies • High, medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, power panels and emergency power generation • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) & DC Power Systems o UPS and DC power systems, battery systems o Designs incorporating (N+1) and (N+2) redundancy • Short circuit protection • Grounding practices • Lighting and lighting control systems • Fire detection systems • Lightning protection systems • Automation for critical utility control with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems • Circuit and electrical system analysis for system optimization and protection • Security monitoring, CCTV • Sustainable design (USGBC LEED) • Data Centers: o Air cooled and direct-water cooled electronic equipment/data rack systems
Qualifications: The successful candidate will bring: • Licensed Professional Engineer with a minimum of 15 years experience, required • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, required • Experience working for MEP firms, an A/E firm or a defense contractor, required. • DOD and / or secret clearances is a plus (otherwise should be able to attain this) • LEED accredited professional is a plus Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineers, MEP, Electrical Engineering, UPS, Power Distribution, AutoCAD, Uninterruptible Power Systems, Uninteruptable Power Supply, Backup Power, A/E, Mission Critical, Data Center, Engineering, Consulting, Critical Infrastructure, mission critical projects, Electrical Power, Switch gear, Power Systems, Generators, high tech projects, Medium Voltage, High Voltage, IEEE
