semic
nductors, software and designs to communications and
consumer
electronics manufacturers. Our client's patented
architectur
dramatically reduces power and cost of video compression
ICs
Supporting H.264, WM9, MPEG2 and MPEG4, and leverages it’s
p
tented architecture to support multiple standards without
sac
ificing power or price.

Ideal candidate will be experienced with video compression
I
s, H.264, MPEG 2-4, etc... and the client is ONLY
interested
n "ideal candidates" !!!

Location: San Jose, CA
LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE PREFERRED !!! - There is NO
relocation
ackage provided with this position !!

The Video Firmware Engineer will be working within the
firmw
re team on video codecs activities ranging from modeling
and
ardware interfacing to testing and developing video
decoding
nd encoding control software for our proprietary multimedia
s
stem.

The Video Firmware Engineer is responsible for the
following

* Modeling video codecs (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264) in
cooperati
n with the hardware architects.
* Implementing video codecs parsers and interfacing with
the
hardware processing modules.
* Design and implement system level playback and encode
cont
ol software.

Requirements
* MSCS and 5+ years in video codec firmware development.
* In-depth knowledge with video compression algorithms and
s
andards.
* Demonstrated experience implementing video decoders and
en
oders.
* Good understanding of software/hardware design
partitionin

* Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and assembly.
* Working experience with the GNU cross development
software
tools.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a software/hardware team.
