SENIOR MANAGER, COMPETITIVE BUSINESS INFORMATION-MD (Cindy)
We are looking for a unique individual to build and grow our
Competitive Business Information Group. As Manager, you will lead a
team of professionals who will create and deliver a new class of
information products designed to respond to Thomson Corporation
business units increasing need for competitive information. This
position requires: Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred), 5+ yrs exp. in
competitive business intelligence, market and product research or
information product management in the publishing industry. Experience
with marketing is also important. Proven leadership skills: exp. as a
project leader or manager of professional staff. You must be an
excellent motivator, with a high energy level. Excellent written and
oral communication skills; experience working with and presenting to
management at all levels.
You and your staff will:
· Assess specific markets and competitors & their use of technology as
a competitive weapon.
· Identify, monitor, and report on new/emerging technologies industry
trends which may provide either an advantage or threat to Thomson.
· Analyze and evaluate key competitor product offerings, developments
and industry dynamics, assess near term implications and
opportunities.
· Develop top competitor profiles and track progress against key
competitive measures.
· Develop regular intelligence reports and technology "guidebooks" for
use by CEO's and CTOs around Thomson.
· Oversee the design, packaging and distribution of these information
products using the latest push, collaborative, online and database
publishing technologies!
