A fixed income trading company near Santa Barbara needs a Senior SQL
Database Programmer with experience in the financial services
industry.
Under the general direction of the Head of Technology, the Senior SQL
Database Programmer is hands-on Database Architect to assist in the
design and development of the company’s new database systems
requirements.
The Senior SQL Database Programmer will develop and monitor policies,
procedures, and standards related to database management to ensure the
department meets data recovery, integrity, and space requirements.
Responsibilities:
o. Manages and maintains corporate-wide database administration and
data management
o. Reviews, evaluates, designs, and implements strategies for data
acquisitions from numerous file layouts and media forms into a single,
comprehensive SQL Server database
o. Creates data extracts and develops reports
o. Develops and manages database load routines to match diverse file
layouts and ensures accuracy of data
o. Implements and maintains policies, procedures, and standards to
ensure security and integrity of test and production data
o. Documents procedures and data exchange by creating data flow
diagrams
o. Develop Database Disaster Recovery and enforce security guidelines
for production database access
o. Performs on-call duties, system implementations, and upgrades that
may occur after normal business hours and weekends as required to
minimize business impact
Requirements:
o. 6+ years experience developing and administering all aspects of SQL
databases (Required)
o. 2 years experience in the Financial Services Industry (Fixed Income
experience a major plus)
o. 2 years experience with market data providers such as Bloomberg,
YieldBook, etc. (Required)
