Quality Assurance Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Leads investigation and resolution of on shift quality issues with
emphasis on implementation of corrective actions. Documents actions
and communicates to the other shifts' staff. •Provides leadership for
the correction, avoidance and reporting of safety hazards. •Identifies
improvement opportunities through effective data collection. As
appropriate participate in the implementation process. •Directs
activities of Shift Quality Assurance Inspectors. These activities
include: assignment of areas of responsibility, product inspection,
and product disposition. •Performs tests for support of the Sorema and
Reclaim Departments. •Identifies training needs for Quality Assurance
Inspectors. •Assists Shift Manager during clocking in and out of
temporary employees. •Oversees bar code compliance. •Directly
supervises three (3) or more Quality Assurance Inspectors. •Determines/
suggests necessary corrective actions to processes to make operations
more efficient and effective at the lowest cost. •Flexible to work
other shift as a substitute. •Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

•Associate or B.S. degree in related field. •Previous supervisory
experience, minimum of one year. •Plastics converting experience.
Blown film preferred. •Working knowledge of continuous improvement
techniques such as SPC and problem solving (pareto charts, trend
charts and fishbone diagram). •Demonstrates capability to perform
tests on resin and plastic products. •Working knowledge of Quality
Assurance system elements. •Basic Computer knowledge including a
working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. •Basic
mechanical aptitude(use a ruler, recalibrate scales, measure bags).
•Effective communication skills (oral and written). •Analytical skills
(identify problem areas through data and observation). •Ability to
influence others to meet goals and objectives. •Effective
interpersonal skills to be able to deal with different personalities
and organizational levels. •Able to work independently and self-
starter. •Detail oriented. •Able to deal effectively with conflict and
work under stressful conditions in a professional manner.
