This is a Request for Discussion [RFD] to remove the newsgroup us.groups
from the us.* hierarchy.

This newsgroup was created more than three years ago during an unsuccessful
attempt to create a us.* hierarchy. It was rmgrouped on August 11, 1994,
but some news administrators apparently did not remove it from their active
list. It is being proposed for removal again due to lack of traffic.

Anyone reading this message is welcome to express his/her views in the
matter. All that is needed is to post a reply supporting or opposing the
removal of us.groups. Your reply will be posted to both us.groups and
us.config. You are then urged to follow the discussion and continue to
express your views.

This message will be posted again in another 7 days. If at the end of 14
days altogether, there are no objections to removing the group, the group
will be removed. If there are serious objections, the group will NOT be
removed, and the objectors will be invited to write their own charter for the
group.
