Job Title: Senior Database Engineer – MS SQL Server & Azure

Location: Kansas City – The role is a Hybrid role (3 Days from office)

W2 ROLE - NO C2C PLS 

We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Database Engineer with a strong background in MS SQL Server and Azure Managed Instances. The ideal candidate will

bring deep technical expertise in database management and performance tuning, with exposure to modern cloud environments and advanced security configurations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain MS SQL Server databases in hybrid/on-cloud environments.
• Manage and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instances for high performance and availability.
• Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and database troubleshooting.
• Implement and manage Always On Availability Groups, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and SQL Server auditing.
• Monitor and maintain database health, integrity, and backups.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on data requirements and architecture.
• Evaluate and incorporate best practices for database security and compliance.
• Work on cross-functional projects involving Snowflake, AWS RDS/Redshift, and other cloud technologies (as needed).

 

Must-Have Skills:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server (2016 and above)
• Proven experience with Azure SQL Managed Instances
• Strong expertise in T-SQL, database maintenance plans, and performance diagnostics

 

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Always On Clustering / High Availability
• TDE Encryption
• SQL Server Auditing
• Performance Tuning & Index Optimization
• Exposure to Snowflake, AWS (RDS/Redshift)
