JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         As Data Scientist, you will be the Small Business Innovation Lab’s chief data scientist. You are the master of all things data with a combination of statistical, programming, and communication skills.

·         Data is your playground – but you are willing to play in the Designer’s sandbox too. Your mission will be prove / disprove thesis statements and develop new models to power test and learn environments. Your curiosity drives you.

·         You know that data will drive this industry’s transformation, and you will find it and use it.

·         Your competence in developing algorithms to solve business challenges, demonstrable expertise with machine learning or natural language processing, and storytelling ability to translate complex analytical results to business value have been cornerstones of your success to date.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Data is your playground 

·         Master of all things data (mongo, google analytics, GITHUB, Hadoop, Tableau)

·         Exposure to dozens of systems, software, and data table formats

·         Understands that “garbage in, garbage out” is critical to actually serving our customers

·         Loves to learn and test new AI/ML/NLP algorithms

·         Comfortable working with other folks to get things done

·         Knows great data sources (public and private) available to drive insights

·         Demonstrable history of leveraging data into fantastic new products

·         Translates technical language into insight business partners can understand and use

·         Ability to translate compatibility between legacy internal databases and modern technologies
