Role: Hadoop Admin

Duration: 12 months+

Location: Cleveland, OH

As a Hadoop Admin you will use your solid understanding of the HortonWorks Hadoop ecosystem to troubleshoot, maintain and develop solutions to complex problems. In addition, you will quickly learn new tools and technologies in a fast paced, agile environment. 

Required Technical Skills:

Configuring and integrating Ambari or Cloudera manager

Managing Hadoop cluster environments, handling all Hadoop environment builds, including upgrades, design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring

Automation skills (comfortable with reading and writing Python and Bash code)

Hadoop administration 

Understanding of Hadoop ecosystem such as HDFS, YARN, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, Pig, Kafka, Nifi, HBase, Ambari, Spark and Hive

Experience with Hortonworks or Cloudera administration

Preferred Skills

Experience with streaming, R and Java, DevOps methodology (i.e., Ansible, Jenkins, etc.), and Web & Cloud platforms (AWS, OpenShift, Azure) would be a plus!

Education and/or Experience Required:

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related field of study and minimum of four years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems. 

In lieu of a degree, a minimum of six years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems may be accepted.
