Role: Application Production Support Engineer (II)

Remote

Duration: Longterm 

 Specifically to support SharePoint Online and Zoom Business We require 6 spots to cover the expected volume of calls across the entire read, including weekend.


The Application Production Support Engineer is responsible for much of the migration management process as part of the Software Process Improvement project. The primary objective is to ensure that newly developed software is delivered to business units in a timely manner. The Engineer provides guidance and technical decision-making expertise for ongoing distribution, implementation and support for these applications

 

Required skills:

• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the application systems in operation, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application issues and issues resolution or escalation.

• Maintain and create SOP, job-aid, RACI for the entire Production support organization, that the person is responsible for.

• Receives and reviews production requests and assists in production control.

• Prepares and maintains schedules for recurring production runs and manages the escalation.

• Produces written instructional guidelines for support personnel for production runs.

• Incident management - logging, prioritizing and resolving incidents and tracking them against various SLAs.

• Problem management— resolving recurring incidents permanently, and implementing preventative action items like proactive monitoring

• Monitor system availability and take corrective actions proactively.

• Manage and support high-availability 24/7 production systems with an on-call rotation.

• Follow proper escalations procedures.

• Excellent listening skills, self-starter, assertive, thorough, and follows established procedures.

• Must be able to communicate effectively and work well within a team environment.

• Diagnose, report, solve and document technical problems

• Investigate and resolve critical application issues on several COTS tools and internally developed applications

• Troubleshoot network issues such as network connectivity and communication through switches, routers, Firewall’s, Load Balancers, V-Lans, etc.

• Assume responsibility for installation, configuration and operational support for department applications ensuring availability and functionality

• Customize, modify and administer a wide variety of vendor tools and internally developed applications

• Interface with and support user community related to basic usability questions
