Job Description:         Front End UI Developer –

Design Requirements and Deliverables

1) All work will be performed on CLIENT servers located in state’s Data Center. Information about the Data Center Services (DCS) and requirements is found in Appendix I.

2) The Vendor will provide specifications for streaming media servers.

3) Fully functional html templates must be provided. The templates must include all pages that were approved as wireframes. The templates provided must be workable click- through templates, including all applicable code.

4) The templates must be responsive for optimal viewing on monitors, tablets, and smart phones. Therefore, the coding must include proportion-based grids, flexible images, and CSS media queries.

5) The CSS Bootstrap framework must be used. All changes to the standard Bootstrap styles must be in a separate style sheet.

6) Client-side scripting language, if applicable, must be jQuery.

7) Html code must be HTML5 and cross-browser compatible.

8) Coding must be semantic, object oriented, and well commented.

9) In addition to the html templates, the Vendor will provide additional templates developed in CLIENT’s current Content Management System (CMS). CLIENT’s current Content Management System (CMS) is Ektron CMS-400.net. Templates are built using .net, C#, and Ektron’s application program interface (API). All solution files and source code must be included. If the CLIENT CMS is upgraded or changed, the Vendor will be notified. CLIENT will provide copies of current templates and related code.

10) CLIENT will provide access to the development server and work with the Vendor to build, test, and deploy the templates.

11) All pages must share a common header, footer, search, and breadcrumb trail and work within CLIENT’s current site and navigation menus.

12) All videos, graphics, documents, and photos must be provided.

13) Site navigation must be fully accessible by both mouse and keyboard.

14) Website must be accessible by all popular browsers and responsive so that it can be used with mobile devices. A list of browsers commonly used by CLIENT website visitors will be provided.

15) Vendor will work with CLIENT IT staff to set up databases and to access information from existing applications.

16) When possible, new applications and features must be built to update dynamically by accessing information from current applications. When this is not possible, the Vendor will provide user interfaces that will allow the Academics Department to maintain the application or feature.

17) All elements that require mapping or location based solutions are required to be built using the Esri ArcGIS Online platform.

18) Stand-alone features must include a site map and all relevant documentation and training necessary for maintenance.

19) Stand-alone features must include a technical architectural diagram explaining the hardware components including hosting environment, type of server or cloud solution, application framework, database structure, website components, and 3rd-party applications and plugins).

20) The database connection must use CLIENT’s approved encryption methods.
