The mobile domain is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team of native mobile developers. This developer would become a part of the team and support the refactoring and updating of the Health Toolkit application.
This developer should be capable of refactoring and implementing application features using the Swift language and the iOS SDK supporting an iPad only version of the application.
The project that this engineer will be resourced to immediately requires a strong knowledge of iOS development and implementation details and best practice for working in Swift.
Candidates should be able to validate requirements and provide feedback and insights on implementation details and best practice for feature development.
REQUIRED:
- 3+ years developing iOS applications using the Swift language
- 6+ years experience in mobile application development with an emphasis on iOS
- Experience working with MongoDB’s Realm persistence framework
- Ability to fully own, architect, and deliver new features. Senior level or higher ability to own and ship production-ready enhancements with minimal dev oversight.
- Well-rounded iOS dev. Not a UI or data modeling specialist.
- Able to contribute to all layers of the apps architecture.
- Strong refactoring skills. We will be iterating and improving an existing codebase.
- Ability to identify and advocate for improvements to app’s codebase and resulting user experience while safely not introducing regression.
PREFERED:
- Familiarity with Atlassian’s Bamboo and Bitbucket platforms
- Familiarity with command line Xcode tools for building and archiving
- Ability to manage and track feature development in JIRA
- Good communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate features on hardware and simulators
Leadership skill needs:
- Should be comfortable explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Should have experience identifying pain-points in processes and owning refinement of processes to completion.
Level of communication with Client:
- The candidate should be comfortable interacting with the client, including light management of the client, conducting technical demos, and close-knit collaboration with technical stakeholders from the client.
- Proven ability to clearly communicate risk, complexity, and timeline impacts of newly added product features or scope
Level of communication with Client:
- Daily: 100% client partnership, standups, sprint planning, emails, IM’s
Any specific soft skills?
- Ability to closely collaborate with Back-End engineers and QA Engineers to arrive at effective and fluid solutions to mobile problems
- Strong understanding of common issues that arise during the development lifecycle and has experience mitigating risks for technical teams (e.g. dependencies on other teams, compliance issues, technical limitations of other parts of the system, managing build vs. buy at the library/component level)
