Cloud Engineer (Python & Micro services) Westborough, MA

Full Time/ Contract

Job Description:

•   Develop micro services on cloud to onboard new 3rd party services.

•   Design and develop REST APIs to expand functionality.

•   Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks.

•   Create productivity tools for third-party developers to self-service their own integrated solutions.

•   Work with other software leads on developing production automation and unit test automation.

•   Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups and understand trends, opportunities that ensure we are using the best techniques and tools.

•   Document the work you do, especially APIs that you create.

  Qualifications (demonstrated Competence):

•   Expert knowledge of cloud coding languages such as Python.

•   Experience with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services preferred).

•   Experience with API design/documentation tools such as RAML and Swagger/OpenAPI.

•   Hands on experience using and developing REST APIs.

•   Cloud-based distributed application scaling & data processing in the cloud.

•   Agile software development methodology.

  Highly Desirable but not required skills include:

•   Knowledge of automation tools such as Jenkins.

•   Experience with Docker.

•   Experience with Apigee or AWS API Gateway.

•   Embedded/Cloud IoT application development a plus.

  Experience:

•   5 or more years working in software development.

•   2+ years developing, deploying and maintaining production web applications and/ or web API services.

•   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.

•   Master’s degree desired
