Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.
• Leverage the Business Analyst team by drafting SQL statements and implementing ad hoc data pulls to support reporting projects.
• Work with DBA and Data Architect to specify more complex SQL pulls and to guide the database set up for optimal reporting performance.
• Build out functional reports using SQL, QlikView or other BI tools. Choose the right tools based on the total business requirements and time to results.
• Design, develop and maintain web-based business process and database applications.
• Create scripts and DTS packages for data integration, data maintenance or bug fixes.
• Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.
• Analyze code for problem resolution and performance optimizations.
• Provide technical consulting and respond to error reports, problems or questions.
• Monitor the performance of reporting database applications and servers and assist with technical support as required.
• Determine and implement data structure, organization and access
• Design and develop data models and database architecture
• Construct, install and test the database system
• Write manuals or explain database's function
• Consult with others to assess the system performance and make modifications as required
• Modify existing databases, as user needs change
Required Skills:
• BA or BS degree, preferably in a technical or analytic discipline
• 5+ years of experience developing relational database applications with complex MS SQL. Equal time spent working in Visual Basic or various BI tools.
4+ years experience developing SSIS Packages and Database Design Required
• 3+ years of experience creating scripts, testing in QA and implementing large data updates into production databases.
• 2+ years of experience using a change management system.
• Knowledge of SQL data structures; able to draft queries; ability to parse complex statements
• Intellectual curiosity and focused creativity.
• Team player who seeks out others to solve issues.
• Implementer who works through roadblocks to solve complex business and technicall challenge
• Previous experience in building or developing business reports for end users in a fast moving corporate setting.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documentation, professional journals, technical specifications and project management documentation.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of an application development team; create structured code for integration into larger systems, document work for maintenance in a production environment, create task lists, timelines and deliverables, work to meet project schedules determined by others.
• Ability to self-manage assigned tasks
