Description:
The Application Development Consultant/DevOps Engineer is responsible for maturing the DevOps mindset within the agile teams using techniques such as Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery to provide quality products with seamless integration across Development, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Operations, and Release Management roles.
PROJECT: Built on the Customer Service Management capability of the ServiceNow platform, the Enterprise Work Delivery (EWD) application will intelligently route work to the right person with the right skills at the right time, across all of UnitedHealth Care work inventory. To accomplish this, EWD will need to integrate with nearly every UHC system that represents the work UHC does – claims, eligibility, enrollment, etc. EWD is tasked with creating an integration layer that connects with these systems in a repeatable and strategic manner, and we are currently building out the team who will create this.

Kafka streaming, performance tuning to accommodate scaling, and REST API’s.
*** What experience will set candidates apart from one another? Experience with Kafka streaming, especially ensuring the publish and consumption works. The other distinction will be in a candidate who knows to work with data modeling & bring forward other integration best practices and is able to think about adding adapters for applications that can’t communicate with Kafka and canonical data models directly.
The successful candidate will be a servant leader who develops and supports a learning organization model through coaching, training, and mentorship. The successful candidate will be one that can adapt as necessary for unintended consequences of this change initiative and one that understands the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team. Candidates will work in a DevOps team environment and are expected to work on both tactical and strategic assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with data modeling and vetting data requirements
• Previous integration architecture experience
• Kafka/Streaming knowledge (publisher, subscriber and consumer onboarding
experience)
• Microservices experience
• Web services experience
• Experience with distributed tracing/balance and controls, monitoring tools (Dynatrace,
splunk, etc)
• Experience with integration solutioning at full scale/Performance Engineering
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD
• ATDD experience
• Ability to communicate/translate technical solutions to business language;
translate business requirements to technical solutions
• Security protocol experience
• Development experience with Java/.NET/C*
