Overview:
Williams Sonoma is looking for an experienced Sr Agile Project Manager to deliver large-scale enterprise technology projects within their complex, retail environment. This role will be specifically focused on supporting projects related to the ecommerce domain, for the various features of the web experience

Primary responsibility is to serve as the Sr. Project Manager supporting features related to the website - product description, product details, check out flow, etc. This includes collaborating with the development team as well Product Managers, engineering, and external vendors. This role will develop and maintain consolidated project work plans; facilitate key program meetings; track key issues, and track and manage project budget and non-labor costs. The Sr Project Manager will also identify risks and escalate accordingly; communicate to key stakeholders within the organization about critical decisions and ensure timely completion of those decisions. This role will work within agile methodology and framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Apply Agile project management techniques, methods, and tools to ensure project success
• Develop and manage detailed project work plans for assigned projects.
• Proactively and aggressively manage project risk and issues; defining mitigation efforts.
• Make recommendations to IT and business management regarding prioritization and resource allocation with input from team members.
• Escalate project related risks and issues to appropriate levels of management.
• Leverage innovative critical thinking approaches to solve problems
• Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams by overseeing the progress of projects with regard to time, scope, and quality and budget
• Build effective partnerships with the developers, architects, quality, and product managers.
• Effectively collaborate in a highly matrixed organization and gain the trust of others. This includes building effective partnerships with stakeholders: including the development staff, business owners and senior management, and other project managers.
• When required, develop Project option summaries, decision documents and recommendations and present to key decision makers.
• Expected to manage projects that span multiple groups and time zones, including offshore resources.
• Project Manager should be able to learn fast and build up knowledge areas.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Project Management, with experience managing large, highly visible technology projects within a retail or ecommerce environment
- Potentially open to other ecommerce experience outside of retail – website for airline, food delivery service, etc.
- Experience should include projects related to ecommerce, websites, digital projects and/or customer facing applications.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Demonstrated agile project experience with experience– this role is Agile focused and will not only manage the project/risk/budget/resources but also run the daily scrum activities with the team
- Scrum Master certification is a plus
- Experience using Jira
Additional Experience
- A strong Project Manager that is involved in all PM responsibilities and PM fundamentals from detailed project plans, budget, scope, resource and timeline management, status reports, risk and issue logs and management, deployment planning
- Strong Project management experience with a proven track record of working cross functionally
- Demonstrated passion for project management and proven track record of successfully delivering large scale projects
- Experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints
- Verified ability to balance multiple priorities and excel in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Clear, precise communication is a must for this role as she would be speaking to VPs and above in steering committee meetings and other settings.
- Established ability to effectively collaborate in a highly matrixed organization and gain the trust of others
- Should be able to excel in a fast paced environment, deal with and be able to steer team in ambiguous situations.
- Need a strong, edge of your seat, engaging personality type person
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate at all organizational levels
- Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a technical focus
