JOB DESCRIPTION:

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of IT Stability & Resiliency, the role of the Program Manager is to act as the program lead for the IT Stability program. The Program Manager will manage an existing agenda to be comprised of several concurrent work streams to drive process maturity, technical currency, and operational improvement to satisfy customer expectations of system availability to enable strong productivity results. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Program Lead

·        Manage rapidly growing IT Stability program enabling multiple business and operational objectives.

·        Deliver best-in-class predictable execution results measured in business partner satisfaction.

·        Create and manage robust governance mechanisms for portfolio oversight.

·        Program & Project Management

·        Facilitate project issue resolution and escalation when necessary via normal reporting chain.

·        Accountable for delivery of all appropriate project deliverables while ensuring compliance with program standards and project framework methodology.

·        Work with the work stream leads to refine project estimates through the project life cycle and consolidates project estimates to manage forecasts at the initiative level.

·        Ensures Change Control processes are followed throughout the project life cycle. Business partnerships

·        Partner with business sponsors and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution and delivery of project business outcomes.

·        Manage expectations and facilitate business decision making at toll gates and with cost-benefit trade-offs.

·        Educate and engage business stakeholders on estimate maturity and confidence level progression.

·        Define and ensure prioritization of scope with the Program Sponsor and ensure project deliverables align with the defined scope.

 

Resource management

·        Manage team of work stream leads ensuring forward progress and adherence to delivery timeframes.

·        Oversee resource demand – PM’s, Resource managers and work stream leads collaborate to ensure the right resources are being utilized on the right projects at the right time.

·        Ensure that IT Application and Operations areas are engaged appropriately in all aspects of project delivery and transition.

·        Provide ongoing/proactive input into performance of meeting delivery goals. Project/Program Financials

·        Accountable for accurate project forecasting (including human resources, hardware, software, outside services, etc.).

·        Financial Management for any expenses associated with program.

·        Ensure contingency is appropriately applied to estimates as they mature.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

·        10+ years of experience managing and directing highly complex, large-scale, multi-project development teams.

·        Strong IT program and project management skills and demonstrated experience managing to milestones and delivery dates is essential.

·        Strong understanding of customer needs and expectations. Ensures that efforts are integrated and aligned with strategic priorities.

·        Keeps organization focused on critical activities for achieving results; continually reviews priorities with leaders and communicates them to employees across the organization. Intervenes to remove obstacles to achieving results and sources of lagging performance.

·        Adjusts readily to multiple demands and constituencies by shifting priorities. Ability to multi-task.

·        Demonstrates resourcefulness, ceaseless energy and persistence to achieve goals despite obstacles and difficulties. Conveys a strong sense of urgency and drives issues to closure.

·        Hands on and results-oriented approach.

·        Promotes collaboration and teamwork.

·        Excellent communication skills.

·        Builds and maintains effective relationships with colleagues and customers; is respected and trusted.

·        PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

·        Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
