Job Description/ Responsibilities
7+ year’s experience must have technical lead experience
Technical Skills:
• Experienced with PostgreSQL & PostgreSQL Architecture.
• Understanding of basic Database Fundamentals: Multi-version control, Concurrency, Transactions, Indexing, Locking.
• Ability to Independently Monitor and Administer databases.
• Creation & managing PostgreSQL Schema, Tables, Tablespaces and Users, Roles & Groups.
• PostgreSQL Index Management, Partitioning and System Catalogs.
• Performance tuning, Query tuning by generating and explaining plan for SQL queries.
• Expert in Backup & Recovery including Pg dump, Setting up WAL archiving, Point in time recovery.
• knowledge on PG Admin and other PostgreSQL tools and utilities.
• Knowledge on High Availability, Streaming Replication, Replication Failover, Repmgr, Barman, PG bouncer and PG pathman.
• Monitoring Alert Log, Scheduled Jobs and Troubleshooting Database Problems
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily operations of PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with the asset management team to understand operational needs and tailor database solutions accordingly.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving
• Database Space/ Storage Management
• Handling Severity 1 to 4 Service Requests
• System and Database Performance Monitoring
• Backup – Execution and Monitoring
• Database Refresh
• User Access Management
• Hands on maintenance activities such as vacuum, vacuum full , analyse the database.
• Analyse, recommend and implement configuration for Optimized Performance.
• Ability to plan hardware capacity requirements for Storage, Memory and CPU Cycles.
• Expert with setting and troubleshoot replication issues.
• KT handling and SOP creation
• Vendor Management
• Implement HA DR
• Practice Various Automation Techniques
• Personal Attributes
• Must be Analytical and possess good problem-solving capabilities
